DIANA KRALL - THE LOOK OF LOVE Diana Jean Krall OC OBC (born November 16, 1964) is a Canadian jazz pianist and singer known for her contralto vocals. She has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, including over six million in the US. On December 11, 2009, Billboard magazine named her the second greatest jazz artist of the decade (2000-2009), establishing her as one of the best-selling artists of her time. Krall is the only jazz singer to have had eight albums debuting at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums. To date, she has won three Grammy Awards and eight Juno Awards. She has also earned nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum albums. Canadian singer Diana Krall has released 15 studio albums, one live album, one compilation album, one extended play, four singles, 16 promotional singles, three video albums, and seven music videos. Throughout her career, Krall has won numerous awards and has sold 16 million albums, establishing herself as one of the best-selling artists of her time. ♥️💯‼️ And I have the great honor of having in my discography a copy of the CD-Album THE LOOK OF LOVE, released in 2001. Diana Krall is a great artist. I already knew her many years ago. But only now have I had the opportunity to truly appreciate her music! God bless her so much! ♥️💯‼️The Look of Love is the sixth studio album by Canadian singer Diana Krall, released on September 18, 2001, by Verve Records. It became Krall's first album to top the Canadian Albums Chart. In 2002, the album earned Al Schmitt the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and received the Juno Award for Album of the Year in Canada. Arranger Claus Ogerman uses a similar orchestration for "S'Wonderful" as the one he wrote for the 1976 João Gilberto album Amoroso. Jim Santella of All About Jazz commented, "Lush strings and gliding flutes surround Diana Krall's tender vocals. Even her substantial piano interludes take on the appearance of drifting mists, through the mix of orchestral timbres. With an emphasis on her sultry vocal interpretations, the latest album reaches out to a broad, popular music audience. Nothing wrong with that. It's just that jazz fans usually want the improvised licks along with their melodies... By interpreting classic love songs, Krall's latest album turns toward romantic interests. The clutter of a large string orchestra, however, obscures the total picture". John Kreicbergs of PopMatters wrote, "Simply said, her piano chops are more than adequate to back up her incredible voice. Yet this is exactly what makes The Look of Love so maddening. Krall's piano work is practically nonexistent on most of the tracks, save for a few perfunctory solos that often sink into in a sea of overly lush string and orchestral arrangements". Doug Ramsey of JazzTimes stated, "The songs, including Burt Bacharach's title tune, are superb. The arrangements and performances enhance them. Krall's singing has improved with her every album. It is at a high level. If her record company can make her a major star with albums this good, and if it doesn't push her piano further into the background, serious listeners should have no complaint". A reviewer of Cosmopolis noted, "With her new album The Look of Love, Diana Krall confirms her exceptional status as a jazz singer. Her new CD is a touch too polished, too clean, but never kitsch, as one might have feared, since the album was recorded together with the London Symphony Orchestra. But the special, sometimes rough-edged character of her previous recordings is missing". Charts and certifications: Canadian Albums (Billboard) 1, Portuguese Albums (AFP) 1, UK Albums (OCC) 23, US Billboard 200 9. Canada (Music Canada) 7× Platinum 700,000, United Kingdom (BPI) Gold 100,000, United States (RIAA) Platinum 1,600,000, Europe (IFPI) Platinum 1,000,000. Worldwide: +6,000,000 copies. ♥️💯‼️

I was 8 years old when I heard this song for the first time. It was a moment that I felt something deep Not explainable for a child but still I realized it was something profound
Diana Krall style is a mix of Jazz/Pop with Bossa Nova , in a sofisticated high level ! That's unique ! I imagine Burt was very happy with that way for "The Look of Love" , because he said one time he loved Bossa Nova and was influenced by that very special style of music .

what a magical atmosphere Diana creates... admirable interpreter of the most beautiful melodies. "The Look of love" is one of the most beautiful poems recorded by BB and she is a worthy interpreter.
First heard this hit in 1965 if I'm not mistaken.was 10years old.my dad bought on a single play.when I got married my girlfriend had the look of love.so I married her.at times the title of a song can turn words into a lifetime reality.imagine that.

This women voice is amazing and so soulful and relaxing! I just love her and her music!
diana is biologically male...you are responding to his male voice...if unsure, check his skull (male) with large square jaws...his voice is husky
So romantic and perfectly done by a living angel! IMHO.
I love this song of Burt Bacharach and this great performance with this so talented and beautiful canadian musician Diana Krall! Simply Fantastic!
Artur yes ! Hal wrote some great lyrics !!

The look of love
Is in your eyes
The look your smile can't disguise
The look of love
Is saying so much more
Than just words could ever say
And what my heart has heard
Well it takes my breath away
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
You've got the look of love
It's on your face
A look that time can't erase
Be mine tonight
Let this be just the start
Of so many nights like this
Let's take a lover's vow
And then seal it with a kiss
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don't ever go
Don't ever go
I love you so
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don't ever go
Don't ever go
Don't ever go

People say this often, but in this case, so much more...
Diana Krall, for decades, just as Anita O'Day, is a hugely under-appreciated/underrated artist who deserves so much MORE.
Listen to all of her songs and then get back to me:)
One of the greatest songs ever written. Let's not forget that Burt Bacharach was a student of the great Darius Milhaud.
God Bless Burts Soul for giving the gift of such beautiful music. DIANA DOES A VERY GORGEOUS RENDITION OF THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG. SO HAUNTINGLY LOVELY..IT JUST GETS ME IN A DIFFERENT MODE THAT I LOVE!! I was 8 years old when I heard this song for the first time. It was a moment that I felt something deep Not explainable for a child but still I realized it was something profound
How old are you. ?
Yes. Deep in your soul. Utter bliss.
A perfect musician ahead of her time! With an incomparable voice among the prominent Divas. Congratulations!
Grande interpretação de Diana neste dia em que Burt se despede de nós.
Rip , Burt
One of the greatest jazz performers of all time.
Diana Krall style is a mix of Jazz/Pop with Bossa Nova , in a sofisticated high level !
That's unique !
I imagine Burt was very happy with that way for "The Look of Love" , because he said one time he loved Bossa Nova and was influenced by that very special style of music .
RIP Sergio Mendes.
Perhaps my favourite cover of this classic song; so moody and sensual - Diana Krall sings this song to perfection; brilliant.
This is my #1 favorite version of "THE look of love" by far!
I must say no other artist could ever out do Diana!!!
I don't even care for any others. I heard hers first and I'm sure I don't want another.
