I thought this was well done. My kids and I found it very interesting. We did wonder, however, about the fate of the horses on the Maple Leaf.

I would love to move back to central florida..i live in Phila right now. Never knew thay Florida had a monument at Gettysburg but i took a picture of it. I dont know why im so interested in these really rural areas during the colonial period and early american history. Like Louisiana, upper Canada, new Mexico/California, New Andalusia. The frontiers of empire i guess you could say.

@ 9:40 in video you say "we never want something like this to happen again" i ask, how do you speak for everyone in this land?

Because anyone who wants a civil war to happen in their country is psychotic? If the Confederacy could have seceded without fighting a single battle they would have.

@@Glogdome although it is spoken in whispers mostly at dinner tables, and behind closed doors. I can assure you many many southerners still hope for a free sovereign south.

I thought this was going to be about the civil war in Florida? I see the countless war crimes against the people of the South is conveniently left out,if that's the Florida historical society it's a sad bunch... I'm wondering if Florida is even a southern state after what I just listened to...slavery was prevelant in the north also and didn't end in 1865 but continued until 1868 in states that remained neutral during the war

I am confederate, my country is Florida the capitol of my country is Tallahassee. My country gave 15,000 troops for the southern cause. Many Florida confederate dead are buried in Atlanta cemetery called Oakland. Downtown area Atlanta. CSA and the Dixie Children cherish and protect this most southern state in our Land. Florida folk only identify with other floridians and we protect our own. We are tight with Georgia because we both called crackers (natives) the rest of America don't mean jack shit. If dixie called i would volunteer immediately

Social issues mostly race problems have crippled the south. There is southern pride amongst blacks when white southern pride unites with black southern pride we will then claim southern sovereignty again and fight for our freedom. Pray for all southern creeds and colors to unite under one southern banner this will make the south strong again like a giant. Love wins.

they don't talk about the black confederate soldiers..the Confederate army was integrated and they served with the white soldiers..the union however didn't allow them to be in white units they also received lower pay in the union army, the Confederate army paid black and white personal equally..unlike the union army..Lincoln and most union generals despised them, read Lincolns and Gen. Sherman view on blacks..the majority of white union soldiers despised them also
