Besties. Never did I say taking a gap year was only for the privileged or rich. I specifically said it would be nice to laze about and the privileged people I was referring to were those that can just relax and travel or whatever. I was decidedly not making a blanket statement referring to everyone that takes time off from school. I have taken 2 gap semesters specifically because of financial reasons. (And obvi it's a privilege to even go to school der. But also don't assume you know everything about someone's situation based on what they feel is appropriate to share) kk bye!
Don't let those people who got offended by that get to you. I understood what you meant, and I thought the same. Many can take a loan for school and get grants so I would think. If they have easy access to education and take a gap year to mess around and leech off family i.e parents. Then yeah its def a privilege.
We’ve been spoilleeedd by Kat lately with many videos these days and I LOVE IT!!! I AM GRATEFUL FOR IT!!! Thank you, Kat. Good luck on your next journey of school, work, and even for everything that you do now. Love yaaaa
I've loved listening to you talk about where your academic journey is taking you! Your thesis sounds incredibly interesting to read and It's incredibly inspiring to hear about your experience and point of view as a minority. All that being said, I wish you so much luck in your pursuits!
I am so glad there is someone on YT that speaks on topics such like your thesis for your education. So important to shed light on these topics. Love your videos Kat!
Hearing you talk about your thesis made me so happy.. your passion for your research is so incredibly inspiring and very much needed in this world. Especially in the US. I can’t wait to see where it takes you in the future and I genuinely believe you’ll have a great impact on so many people. Sorry if this is sappy lol
I would love to hear more of your thesis work and your cultural identity. I wish I knew more about it and by remembering who has written history I feel like listening to you telling more about it is listening to the right person.
Listening about your thesis reminded me of a college class I took that is about different historical records of non-European (non-Western) people and their culture being rewritten and forcibly taken by straight white historians. It definitely change my perspective about history and to never trust what is recorded about my Mexican culture from a white historian or use our culture to their advantage. Like, a holiday that is based on my own Mexican culture was almost trademark by a white corporation for entertainment purposes instead of respect. I give you the best of luck and hope to continue your research because we all need history about non-European people being told and recorded by ACTUAL non-European people.

It is great listening to you talk about your thesis and what you are planning to do in the future! Now to a very different topic, have you listened to the new NCT 127 album? It's amazing! Could you do a album review?
I haven't created a routine yet but I've been editing most on Saturday for the Sunday upload and Sunday and Monday for Wednesday- very tight turn around
Hi thank you for upload 🫶🏼 I love your channel and your personality 💜 hope to see some journaling flip throughs 🥹 have you ever tried digital journaling?
I love your videos but when you said privileged people take gap years that really took me by surprise. I took a gap year between my undergrad and masters because the pandemic had just started and I didn’t have the money to start grad school. Taking a gap year is not for the privileged
Oop AND I actually took a gap semester because of financial reasons too but I was thinking of rich white people that treat gap years as a time to get wild or whatever (which is what I'm surrounded with at school so that's why I said it that way)
The last part about privileged people taking a gap year sounds a bit tone-deaf towards people that for whatever reason needed to take it. Going to another school after finishing one, living by yourself in new york city, etc, is already a privileged place to be. And by saying this I don't mean to offend you, I can see that your intention with your thesis is beautiful, I just felt the need to point this out. Sending you love.
I'm not saying that having privilege is a bad thing. I'm saying I don't have that kind of privilege and I'm jealous for it. I will have to start paying back my student loans when I leave school so I would like to prolong it as much as possible if I can get the opportunity to keep going. Just consider there are things that I don't share about how I am able to live the life I do 🖤
I love your videos, but I felt you kind of overstepped on the whole “only privileged people take gap years”, I am taking a gap year before medical school to work and earn money… so I dont see how that’s privileged, not all gap years are for traveling and being lazy, some use it to work.
I didn't say only privileged people take gap years. I never said all people who take gap years have money - I took a gap semester because of financial reasons - I was never making a blanket statement. I was specifically talking about privileged people who take a gap semester and don't have work or worry about money which I said in the video I would work if I couldn't go back to school right away
In Which app do you hear the audiobooks? I want to start this way of reading but idk which app is better 🥲 or if someone else is reading this which app do you use?? 👀

Your thesis sounds fascinating. If you ever decide to publish it, I'd be one of your first readers. Awesome vlog as usual.
Agreed! I never thought about photography from that perspective, and it's very compelling!

I love watching your vlogs. It feels like a day trip with a sister honestly. Love you and your channel 😊
I love listening to you talk about your thesis! I hope in the future there will be more photos (or even bookmarks!!) of Belize in your shop 💚
I’ve been rewatching your vlogs now that it’s nearly fall and am so excited to watch this one (even though it is still 90 degrees in california) 🥰

Love your videos and your consistency! How do you put out multiple videos within a week? Do you wait until you have a few edited before uploading?
I haven't created a routine yet but I've been editing most on Saturday for the Sunday upload and Sunday and Monday for Wednesday- very tight turn around

Don’t take a gap year lol I graduated in 2018 and it has been a struggle to get back into writing and research for me 😅
