Douay-Rheims The caveat is the part that says "***who walk not according to the flesh.***". In other words, those who are Baptized and no longer live a life of sinfulness. If you can honestly say that you are no longer a sinner, then you can certainly claim that you are "free from the law of sin and death". If not, then you might want to reassess your chances for salvation. Jesus said, "Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect." [Matthew 5:48] Are you perfect? I know I'm far from it. That's why we all need the Sacrament of Confession. Don't forget, Jesus gave the Apostles the power to forgive sins: "John 20: [21] He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. [22] When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. [23] Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained." I had someone try to tell me the sin of Lot was the lack of hospitality a few years ago. I stood my ground and also quoted Judges 19:20-30. Both occasions they called for the men to be brought out and both times women were offered instead because the sin they were attempting was so evil and unnatural that they actually offered their virgin daughters instead. The offering of women shows that it was a lesser evil to do so to a woman than to a man.

"Abominations" are the sins of the flesh that cry out to Heaven for Justice, which is exactly what was described in the Bible reading for Father's homily.

Being SSA is not a sin in itself. Acting on it is though, like any other form of adultery. That's not a Christian thought or opinion, it's a Church teaching. And your orientation is not at all the entire sum of your identity. It's not who you are, it's just something you are inclined to do (but hopefully don't). There was not, for the most part, people who were kidnapped and held against their will and forced to work, what we think of slavery today. Exodus 21: 20 basically says that you can beat your slaves with a rod as long as they get up after a few days. Ephesians 6:5-8 Paul states, “Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ” which is Paul instructing slaves to obey their master. Similar statements regarding obedient slaves can be found in Colossians 3:22-24 The only moral thing to tell a slave is to try if at all possible to escape bondage. The fact that I could write a better version of the Bible by simply adding a commandment to not own other humans makes the statement that it’s the inspired word of God very questionable. Think of all the human suffering that could have been avoided if that were the case. Also how do you explain the God sanctioned genocides of the Bible such as numbers 31: 1-18. Not a book I would recommend having children learn their moral values from.

Explain which religions disqualify one from getting to heaven or does everybody get to do whatever they want in this life? D.) If you have a disqualifying list, explain how you arrived at it.

I had someone try to tell me the sin of Lot was the lack of hospitality a few years ago. I stood my ground and also quoted Judges 19:20-30. Both occasions they called for the men to be brought out and both times women were offered instead because the sin they were attempting was so evil and unnatural that they actually offered their virgin daughters instead. The offering of women shows that it was a lesser evil to do so to a woman than to a man.
People seem to forget that our God is a vengeful God! And I'm shocked he's been this patient with all of the horrible things being done to the innocent children, and to his flock! God is angry, and if people can't feel that, they aren't feeling their connection with our source!!!

The prodigal son repented before the father welcomed him back with a feast. Jesus told the woman at the well and others he healed to go and sin no more. Repentance is necessary before welcoming back those who are dangerous to our spiritual health. Cut off limb, leave father or brother etc if they lead you to hell. Wait and pray for their repentance.

Call upon the Blood of Christ for strength. Say the divine mercy chaplet at 3 pm every day for yourself and others. Say the most powerful Novena of abandonment and be at peace. If you ask him to forgive you in the sacrament of confession. you are forgiven! And dont forget to go to confession, receive the Eucharist on Divine mercy Sunday (the Sunday after EAster Sunday, and you will not only be forgiven of all sins ever but also for punishment for all sins ever committed). No need to worry, trust, be happy you are a child of God.

Fr. Altman is not representing Luther nor Protestant soteriology correctly. "Sin Boldly", was said with tongue firmly planted in cheek. Furthermore, part of Sodom and Gommorah's sin was uncharitablity.
What kind of a true man of God would jest about sinning? Did Jesus make a joke of sinning? The true interpretation of Sodom and Gommorah is that it was destroyed because of the sin of sodomy. Only the heretics teach it was uncharitibility.

Did you miss the rest of that paragraph? Ezechiel 16: "[50] And they were lifted up, and committed abominations before me: and I took them away as thou hast seen."
"Abominations" are the sins of the flesh that cry out to Heaven for Justice, which is exactly what was described in the Bible reading for Father's homily.
Please practice church discipline and ask the parents of the child that kept on crying throughout the homily to go out into another area so as not to distract others from hearing God's message to the congregation. Very rude and selfish of them to allow this!!

But when parishioners come on Sundays they expect to be able to actually hear what is being said! Occasionally a child is going to cry and talk a bit but this child talked loud enough to be heard on the recording all through the service! This confrontation is best achieved by the act of confession before a priest who thus acts as the catalyst to process the psyche accepting the need to go into the wilderness and there undergo the necessary learning and purification which is Almighty God’s calling for each and every one of us.
Formal confession isn’t the only way, but it’s easily the most accessible and it gives these people a reason for their existence
The careful distinction that father seems to draw between the demands social justice and hospitality and the real sins that cry out to God for justice seems to overlook that the other sins mentioned in the catechism that cry out to God for justice are sins of a social character.
In any case distinguishing between sins is the function of the Divine Judgment of God and speculating on the dialogue that he has with each individual soul is not our profits

Being SSA is not a sin in itself. Acting on it is though, like any other form of adultery. That's not a Christian thought or opinion, it's a Church teaching. And your orientation is not at all the entire sum of your identity. It's not who you are, it's just something you are inclined to do (but hopefully don't). We all have crosses to bear and sinful habits to overcome.

It does condemn it but it also condones the owning of other humans as property Leviticus 25: 44-46 so it’s obviously morally flawed book.
@@billwilson653 This type of “slavery” was almost always the equivalent of indentured servitude. People who essentially sold themselves to others (VOLUNTARILY) due to poverty or debt repayment. There was not, for the most part, people who were kidnapped and held against their will and forced to work, what we think of slavery today. So the tru essence of the Bible is not morally flawed and it doesn’t condone slavery as we know it. It does condemn the other per Leviticus 18:22. That’s it.
@Tom Riordan Leviticus 25: 44-46 if that’s not an endorsement of slavery I don’t know what is. Exodus 21: 20 basically says that you can beat your slaves with a rod as long as they get up after a few days. Ephesians 6:5-8 Paul states, “Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ” which is Paul instructing slaves to obey their master. Similar statements regarding obedient slaves can be found in Colossians 3:22-24 The only moral thing to tell a slave is to try if at all possible to escape bondage. The fact that I could write a better version of the Bible by simply adding a commandment to not own other humans makes the statement that it’s the inspired word of God very questionable. Think of all the human suffering that could have been avoided if that were the case. Also how do you explain the God sanctioned genocides of the Bible such as numbers 31: 1-18. Not a book I would recommend having children learn their moral values from.
