From where I am a fan of arunita to completely forgetting I was here to just listen comment on her song to what a deep meaningful song it is. Our strength is classical songs and spiritual song and I love some people still practice it to this date. Gratitude and heart goes to this song. With due respect to everyone, all contestants no doubt are talented singers but when it comes to a competition, one must be unbiased & judge on overall talent & singing skills.
It would be unfair & unjust on Arunita to vote for someone else based on sympathy or bcoz he/she is from your town or state. I am from Mumbai & there are atleast 3 contestants from my state but still I & our many music loving friends voted for Aru bcoz she is the most deserving candidate.
She has been the most consistent, flawless & technically perfect contestant so far & she has improved day by day to reach where she is today. No wonder Nehaji said yesterday that Aru is the Kohinoor of Indian Idol with the most Surili awaaz. In fact she is the Kohinoor of India & must be treasured.
So my humble request to all fellow Indians is to be fair in making their choice & not decide on emotional or sympathetic grounds.
Winner of a competition must be judged on merit and his/her overall musical skillsets which must include voice & tonal quality, versatility, classical background, Sur, taal, lay, etc. Aru scores highest on all these parameters. Some people say she can only sing Lataji's songs. But isn't that her strength? She has sung Ashaji's, Anuradhaji's, Shreya's songs & ghazals equally well. Yesterday we saw her talent in singing Bhajans.
I am sure she will also sing Qawwali some day. More importantly, her innocence, simplicity & purity is visible in all her renditions.
