Also, the laser engraving doesn't have to be directly underneath the serial number. My local shop ordered some and they sent some with laser engravings in the 6 o clock position but at different positions on the shaft (some directly under serial number) some under made to play sticker
A good milled putter is tough to get ! A good milled balanced putter with feel is still tougher to get and give a good putter to a great putting player it does wonders!

The fake head cover is missing the word "Milled" on it lol I've held a fake Newport 2 before and the putter weights were totally off which made it very unbalanced. The putter head was also super light, like it was cut out of aluminum or something... The kid I met on the golf course said he recently purchased it from the wish.com for $75 bucks and thought it was real, till he held my real one. Beware

I have been offered a Scotty Cameron Newport in vgc it passes the magnet test but has Sooty Camaroon stamped on it just wondering if Sooty is any relation to Scotty or if its a prototype,my friend tried to reassure by saying give it the BIN test that is done by raising the putter above your head and bring it down very very sharply on the edge of a metal bin just above the head if it snaps clean off leave it in the bin if it only bends to right angles then it is an original and would have been worth buying,I am a little tempted as it has a cracking Donnay grip on it,any experience or advice out there from Scotty aficionados as I have it on good authority from the seller that this is the Chinese spelling of Scotty Cameron.

If it can be proven a legitimate Scotty Cameron & that “sooty Cameron” stamp is just a mistake or defect then that should actually make it more valuable & collectible. Could drive the resale price up for you.

This video is so old that its no longer relevant. The fake putters these days are insanely good, but there are still some characteristics that differ from the real and fake one. The fake Scotty market is getting better and better as we speak.

Well I'm lucky enough to know how to get the real deal at my golf club. Strange some people still fall into these counterfeit scotty's. There are many good putters out there but not any good putter goes with any good player. That's why they're customisable. (at least at scotty :) ) Get a proper fitting by a pro and get the club you need... best money spent...

The putter head doesn't seem to be magnetic. 2. The red dot/O in Cameron is oval not round. 3. There's no ID/serial number on the shaft below the grip. If you can putt with it what are you worrying about,if you cant bin it, because its marked Scotty Cameron doesn`t make you a good or better putter,the problem is in YOUR head not your putters head.

+David P. Sorry, old video I wish I would have thought about content more, didn't really think it would be watched this much haha. I happen to have 4 of these grips and they are all 10.8 inches long (2 are red, 2 are black). I do however have a really old scotty grip that is 10.2 inches long (this one is black with gold writing and has dots in it like the old ping grips). Hope this helps. It was a local sale gone bad, i didn't open it since it was still in plastic.
Like 99% of the golfers are going to putt better with a $300 putter. I out putt the guys I play with and I use an old Ping Anser putter from the 80's. I have a couple of new putters but I still like the classics.

I didn't know at the time there were fakes and since it was still new in plastic, i didn't bother to check. This is why this video was made, to help others not make the same mistake. The fake one will not hole as many putts as the golf ball knows it is being hit by a substandard impliment!!!
