Dundee is going to have to make some serious moves to improve their drainage system before next season or they should be required to have an alternative ground arrangement in place. For a top tier side to have to call off 5 matches during the course of the season is unacceptable in my view. As for the game you were able to cover, strong support from fans that were present was a positive. I do agree with your point that getting a real fiery crowd is hard when you don’t have much to play for. It is why having relegation is such an important piece of the puzzle. As an American, I know the pain of having to watch your team play out the string when they are out of competition 4 months before the end of the season.
I live across in Oslo now and follow the leagues here. Here's a great cancellation story... Start were due to play a promotion playoff v Bryne at home - the winner progressing towards the Eliteserien (top level of Norwegian football). The weather had been cold, -5°, but was due to warm up for the game. Start decided not to turn on their undersoil heating and risk it. The day of the game came and the weather was below 0°. The match was called off due to a frozen park. The rules here are strict. If the game is cancelled due to the club being idiots the game is forfeited with a 0.3 result being awarded. Start's season ruined because they tried to save a few quid. The club board left.
You, knowing more about football there. Does that sort of thing happen often? And what do you think of it? Personally I'm on the mindset it is Start''s fault.
@Canas94 rain isn't a huge issue for most clubs, even Brann Bergen where it rains a lot. Many of the clubs have installed artificial pitches, including Vålarenga in Oslo and Tromsø up north. I went to the final game of the league season between Vålarenga and Tromsø in Oslo. The pitchside temperature was -16°. The game was on. Tromsø are planning on moving back to a grass surface, but that has its issues. They have a lot of snow through winter and its dark, so when the season kicks off in early April the grass is already struggling.
After the Dundee v Rangers debacle I like the idea of the home team losing a mandatory 3-0 scoreline if they can't fulfill a fixture to their stupidity/incompetence. Truly catastrophic conditions though should be judged as such. Some things no-one can control.
Scotland might need to be a summer competition, 1 for better weather. , 2 the change for no European tv competition for a couple of months and there would be more of a focus on the SPL

Dundee sacked their experienced groundkeepers and replaced them with cheaper versions, who clearly aren't up to the job. The game was on after the first inspection. Why did they not cover the whole pitch again after that instead of just the bad bits? Surely covering it up would have kept it dry, eh?

It is what it is the rain has been unprecedented this year down the valley in Darvel the pitch is decimated and it's touch and go every week if the game is on. Summer football is a must for Scottish clubs. Why is it never on the table it makes sense on all levels.
The Dundee/Rangers game could have been played last week on 3rd. For whatever reason, presumably to give them more time to prepare for the Derby at the weekend, the League chose the 10th. I bet they regret it now as the split is almost upon us.

Rain it’s not rocket science
Only 1 team in Tayside 🔵⚪
It is what it is the rain has been unprecedented this year down the valley in Darvel the pitch is decimated and it's touch and go every week if the game is on.
Summer football is a must for Scottish clubs.
Why is it never on the table it makes sense on all levels.
The Dundee/Rangers game could have been played last week on 3rd. For whatever reason, presumably to give them more time to prepare for the Derby at the weekend, the League chose the 10th. I bet they regret it now as the split is almost upon us.
Because its scotland
Why don't you make a video about something more important, the throwing of missiles that could cause serious harm or even death. Should they deduct points from teams that agree guilty of having fans thrown missiles.

@jimg6458 it makes sense tho!
😂😂😂😂 no it doesnt ...all the tims are just concentrating on the next Rangers game...you still have to go to tynecastle and Rugby park 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣@@WilliamKidd-iw3xd
Have a word with yourself son. It’s a conspiracy. 😂😂😂😂
Celtic have to play Hearts and Killie . Could easily drop points in both games.
A hope u going to the play offs
Dundee Hilltown has very unique street by street climate change problem and unfortunately, Dens is on the wrong side of the Great Dundee Rain shadow that runs along Tannadice St. - North of Tannadice street and you are grand but South you are f++++. Also other issues are the Tories, Masons, Elon Musk, King Charles, Rangers etc
Climate change is a funny one - biological fact, if it warms and there is more CO2 plants tend to grow faster, bigger and better but sadly the clown that posted that one on social media is probably lucky he can type and stole someone's phone to post it on. Don't expect much education in the Dundee end.
😂😂😂 mon the accies ❤🤍
Why are you so terrified to say anything about rangers and celtic....be honest.
How funny would it be if Dundee beat Rangers after all this and virtually handed Celtic the title.
Huns would be going mental. Ha ha ha 🤣
No chance of course, more likely Dundee will get gubbed 5-0 🤣
More likely Hearts and Killie will take points of Celtic. (AGAIN)
Rangers fan
Ah an english man moaning and moaning about the weather. Video about EK and all we hear is poor rangers should be top. Ripping dundee apart and the league system...yip talking up the scottish game 😂 clubs have no control over the weather, its not been that bad😂 your videos are becoming a moaning session more and more! Talking about a community in scottish football whilst turning a blind eye to the real problems in our game 👌🏻
❤
Go to gigg lane
