The story told to me (I don't know if this is true), Hancock's Fabrics bought Joann's Fabrics and is downsizing Joann's. We don't have a Hancock's or Joann's here (and never have). I used to shop at Hancock's when I lived in Memphis, Tennessee. I shopped at the Piece Goods Shop when I lived in Huntington, WV. The only place we could buy new patterns here in Morehead, Kentucky, was at Walmart. Walmart has not done anything about the broken pattern cabinet in our local store; so, we have to order new patterns through the mail or drive to Lexington, Kentucky (or out of State) to find and buy new patterns. I'm sorry if your local Joann's is going out of business. It feels like they are trying to put a stop to home sewing.
Wow. That's crazy... Can't believe you have to go out of state to buy patterns. That's a shame. Very sad to think that they are trying to get rid of home sewing.
Simplicity 9544 and the Butterick pattern are really cute. They're going on my pattern pick up list during the next sale. McCall's 8119 is my pick for the sew along.

I like the romper/skort and Simplicity 9918, the off the shoulder look is nice. Perfect for spring and summer! Girl, I agree about Joann's. They are too crafty and have lost their focus on sewing fabrics and patterns. I was just there last week shopping for notions....the fabric prices have gotten really expensive! 😢 Good to see you back and continued prayers to you and your family. Your sew alongs will they be live? I like Mccall's 7967 for the sew along. Happy sewing ❤❤❤!!
I find sales on the patterns at the websites for the company's. At one point, I knew what pattern i wanted and could only find them at the pattern site.
Great patterns you selected! I do love that McCall’s 7967 with the sweat heart neckline, so I am rooting for that one for the sew along! I think like you, it would be quite versatile. I love how you identify the intricacies of the patterns. It is something I tend not to look at as closely, so it makes me pay closer attention to them.

Hobby lobby is having sale on new look for $.99 because they will no longer carry new look patterns. All the patterns are very cute. If I were a younger woman I would be all over McCall 8454. Loved wearing skorts when my two boys were little. I could still chase them if needed, but felt a little dressed up. I hope you make that pattern sometime and share.
I’m a beginner sewist, I picked up the first romper pattern a couple weeks ago & I promised myself that view B is my summer project. That pleated skirt detail is too cute!! ❤ i can’t wait to see what you make too!

Speedy and full recovery to your family🤗 My Joanns has not been advertising pattern sales, even when I go in the store and show the flier, they don't have signs up and then say "oh yeah" and then quickly put them up🤔
