Hello Dariush, I am sooo flattered about your review! I was so anxious about the reception of this new fragrance of mine. Thanks so much for your careful, loving approach and time to delve into it 💖
Hi Dariush, what a great line up! Does anyone remember Givenchy's Insense from the 90s? I used to love it on my ex. And, at least to me, Italians do citrus better than the French, justifiably so.
I do like several fragrances in the Ormonde Jayne line and some like Ormonde woman and man are little masterpieces. But one thing I don’t like is how they have changed the bottle sizes and thus heavily increased their price point. They used to offer two sizes, 50 ml and 125 ml. (Apart from small travel sets and so on). Some fragrances were available in both 50 ml and 125 ml, with the 125 ml being pretty fairly priced considering you got quite a hefty amount for a lot less that twice the price of the 50 ml bottle. Expensive but fair if that makes sense. But now they have ditched those sizes completely and replaced them all with an 88 ml bottle across the board, (apart from again travel sizes). And the 88 ml bottle is interestingly enough quite a bit more expensive compared to the old 125 ml bottle. Win win for them I guess but not so much for the buyers end of the deal…
Apparently 8 is Linda's lucky number, hence the 88 ml bottles. I'm glad this carries meaning for her, but for the customers I think this is just way too random. However, I noticed that it says 'Parfum' on the bottle, and the webiste says 'Now poured at maximum strength' so I guess they switched to selling extraits only. They used to have a pour at your preferred strength service in the London headquarters, it seems they discontinued that and now they just sell the strongest versions. Hence the price increase. I love OJ's signature collection, I own several of those, including Woman. Too bad they seem to want to position themselves with other super popular brands. Exclusive releases, luxury pricing and image, increased influencer engagement. Soon I'm not going to be able to repurchase my favourites.
Narciso Rodriguez for Him Edp is in my opinion the best release from the house. Beautiful floral musk. Sadly discontinued. Probably even the best creation by Francis Kurkdjian.
Bianchis are truly magnificent and the "everything but the kitchen sink" approach is just what the doctor ordered. One hopes that this does not change.
I’m very fond of Acqua di Parma Blu line, those creations are recognizable ones, true Mediterranean spirit in the bottle. Ginepro di Sardegna, ahh, sadly discontinued. As for Ormonde Jayne, Woman&Man are my favorite, Woman a bit more maybe. Ta’if is such a beautiful fragrance, just one or two spritz is all you need. With OJ in general I’ve found less is more. Ambre Royal is another gem. And from Intensivo line, Nawab of Oud is interesting one in my collection. I also lost track with all those bottles getting out for last couple of years. I haven’t tried this new Vanille, but I ‘ll cherrish Vanille d’Iris and 30ml left from big bottle. It has a bit of Chanel-esque elegance and iso-e is used skilfully here. Somehow abstract and distant, at the same time so natural and familiar. Something is telling me that Vanille d’Iris has nothing in similar with Africa’s one. From old Jo Malone there is one I love, and it is Blackberry&Bay, first sniff brought me back to my happy childhood memories and carefree summers. Picking blackberries, brambles-scratched arms and leggs. As far for Francesca Bianchi, I’ve tried 5-6 of her creations and although I find them interesting, haven’t pursued bottle. Thank you for this video, hope I’ll catch live more often in the future. Community and the vibe are great!
Hi Persolaise! I love ADP! My favourite is the classic Colonia which is my favourite perfume of all. Very elegant and clean fragrance. I also love Blue Mediterano Mirto de Panera. When I tried Chanel Bel Respiro, I found it to be similar to this.
This AdP is quite good on the longevity for the style but kind of lacks of juiciness in opening and is quite linear. Not as impressive as the chinotto or the bergamotto.
Speaking of light summer citruses, I have fond memories of Lancome's Aroma Fit (refreshing body mist) made by Annick Menardo (!!!). I first bought it in 2001 or 2002 when visiting my friend in Dubai... being discontinued for a long time, I recently found it online but for the asking price I am affraid it lost its qulities.
I too had lost touch with the Ormonde Jayne brand. I loved a few of the early ones like Tolu, Woman, and Taif. I don't know if the use of synthetics became unbalanced or they simply shifted to appeal to the quiet luxury esthetic, but after a few lackluster releases I lost interest. Your critique of Francesca Bianchi is fair. Still her style resonates with me. Under My Skin is my favorite comfort scent. Definitely want to try this latest one.
Yes, do try the new FB. I must say, rather sadly, that after several hours, it does seem to fall apart a bit and lean too heavily towards the marine elements.
Wouldnt we miss out on much of the scent if the fruit is picked unripe ? My experience of fruit is that it gets sweeter, more flavoursome and better smelling as it ripens
What is the longevity and projection like on AdP Mandarino di Sicilia? I have Fico di Amalfi which is a beautiful scent, but it has abysmal performance.
@@Persolaise Cheers mate. Might get a sample of this before I splurge on Torino21 (I know they're not going to smell similar, but they must give off a similar vibe with the citrus & mint combo perfect for summer & spring) I am trying to keep my collection small & manageable with no more than 15 bottles at any one time.
Being in Australia, it's difficult to catch these vidoes live. But it's very nice to catch up with it the next day. Not really interested in any of these except the Acqua Di Parma one (i don't have any of their perfumes), but I'm here for the witty commentary 😊. Thank you
Would you be able to review the new ÄICAN by Kajal? It sounds lovely and interesting but maybe a little gaudy. I have seen no reputable reviews so far and I’d love to hear your thoughts before buying a sample

Congratulations on another intriguing release, Francesca.

I think I have a flanker of the Givenchy somewhere in my collection.
Thanks for watching.
The one that came in the green bottle? That was lovely

I guess nothing stays the same.
Thanks for watching.

I know many people loved that one.
Bianchis are truly magnificent and the "everything but the kitchen sink" approach is just what the doctor ordered. One hopes that this does not change.
Certainly, her style has many, many fans.

Their Colonia is wonderful.

I’d agree that Chinotto is better.
Many thanks for watching.

I don’t think I know about that one. I’ll have to look it up.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that citrus oils tend to be extracted from unripe fruit, but I may be wrong.
What is the longevity and projection like on AdP Mandarino di Sicilia?
I have Fico di Amalfi which is a beautiful scent, but it has abysmal performance.
I’d say it’s fine for a cologne-style scent.

Is there any similar to the basil that acqua di Parma did from
The Blu line ?
I’m so sorry, I don’t remember that one.

I'll do my best, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a sample.
Have you tried the new scent by Marc-Antoine Barrois, Tilia? Curious of your thoughts about it.

Which Francesca Bianchi perfume is closest to Absolue Pour le Soir?
I'm not sure, really. Perhaps someone else reading this will be able to comment.
Who makesAcqua de Parma? Could you give some very feminine ones? Thank you.
