It seems obvious that Jesus washed the disciples' feet as an example of servanthood, and not to be establishing an ordinance for the church on the level of baptism and communion.
How so? I can read it for over 10 years and not understand how to do what he did. He washed feet as a sign that there feet were dirty (someone went to sin (Romans/ Jews). He was telling them if he didn't wash this away they were well doomed. As far as how to do this for another it makes no sense. I can't clean your steps nor do i really like feet 😬. But as far as your testimony i don't see it
Is not obvious to everyone. Jesus told them to do it because in their time and cultural context washing feet was a real service to a real need. The whole point is to serve each other. If we don't help with the needs of our neighbors, how washing other's feet is gonna be of any service at all?
I think doing "foot washing" every once in awhile in church is a good thing. It's kinda like the ordinance of the "Lord's Supper" in a sense. Each have symbolic signiicance and REMIND US of something. Doing "foot washing" REMINDS us regulalrly that we need to be serving others. It'sl like a "regular sermon" or REMINDER of the important turth tat we need to serve one another in love.
@@christopherbernal6452 sorry to break news. All people are in danger of releasing hell. Have you heard the spirit speak expressly here? You did not you heard. Pride (I think) you heard logic (no need to do anymore), you heard confusion (hes as appalled by peter but for the opposite reason he dont want to wash feet lol) But what is most troubling was the smirk when he was imaginging that you walked into church and wanted to wash his feet. Should of offended him he is the "teacher" instead it gave him joy in the thought. Kinda like Daniel when he saw the end. Hope an angel pulls you back sir Oh and after john 13 you never see this again... Kinda like you never seen Jesus so you should just not do what he says because come on thats not logical. .

I would say when He took upon human nature. (Heb 2:17). Although one can think about Ps. 110:4, and this Psalm would seem to be at His ascension and enthronement. You would have various texts to deal with.
I think all pastors and leaders should wash people feet 🦶 I have not meet one yet who has done that why do you think that is are they better then Jesus ?
A lot is going on in today's world. He often preaches from material that is sent to him, so it's pretty current. I would say that what he is preaching is applicable to today's world. I disagree that one is always complicit if they do not speak out and I would challenge you to support that with scripture. More needs to be preached about than what is found in newspaper headlines.
The best preaching is expository, verse-by-verse preaching, because that way the preacher covers what God considers most important. Newspaper exegesis too often produces Bible eisegeis.

How can I ask a private question to Pastor Tim?
God is good 🙏✝️
Thank you Pastor Tim for imparting a fundamental biblical teaching.😇
Quick question (not relate to the topic): When did our Lord become the high priest? Please give Bible reference!

Mục Sư Thạch Long Hạnh when he ascended into heaven he became the high priest after the order of Melchizedek... it’s in Hebrews
Its all over the book of hebrews

14:13, 15:46

Preach about what's going on. Expose the lies or you're complicit with them. Judgment starts at the house of God.

So what Jesus is actually saying is that Pastors and elders should wash the toilets and clean the dishes. LOL
