The show documented the disguised Hartmann learning the ropes of customer service at Carr Hardware from Juras, who appeared to be friendly, confident and highly competent at what he does. Along the way, viewers learned about Juras' family of a wife and young daughter, that he and his wife enjoyed an abbreviated honeymoon, and that eight years ago, he lost his father to suicide. He described that experience as being a formative one that left him with the drive to work hard and raise a family.
