      Me too! Actually I just love all forms of art. Resin is one of my main ones though. This is kind of like staring into a whole other dimension. Similar outcomes just different techniques. I love seeing how things connect as I learn new skills. 🥰

    I'm fairly new to fusing but have fallen in love with it! I've been making pendants but want to get into earrings...your video is fascinating! Are all your dichro dots 2 layers?

    • @speedoflightglass
      @speedoflightglass  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes sometimes 3 , usually 2 layers play with thickness you desire

    Awesome video. Can you create small circles of various sizes that are flat? And one tone of color without the sparkles in it? thanks much

    • @speedoflightglass
      @speedoflightglass  ปีที่แล้ว

      Flat u would doable but lots of work cutting circles then tack fusing two or 3 layers to make flat circles.

    Hi, i came across your video today. I have no knowledge about this. When you fire square glass pieces at high temperature they become round dots suitable for earrings? Please explain. Doing something for 20 years and still not bored is totally amazing. 👍👍

      Ya like mercury, it balls up and wants to maintain 1/4 in thick

  • @kayshue682
    @kayshue682 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1/2" squares for studs? They are so beautiful!

    • @speedoflightglass
      @speedoflightglass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would stack 3 thin for a 1/2 in dot.. it needs the mass to balance out at 1/4 in thick

    Have you tried applying a “mesh” to a piece of glass with a glass cutter and then breaking it? Wouldn't this work and make it easier to cut each strip of glass?

    • @speedoflightglass

      Yes I didn't care for it as much.. but it works for some

    I'm a potter, so I have large kilns, I'm trying to figure out if I can do something in the equipment I have. I make my own kiln wash, might not be the same, where might I get amounts of time at what temps. Maybe Its not possible with what I have. I fire from 1800-2235 generally, but I can lower, I guess I can experiment, what's the worst outcome I could expect, explosions or just melting and making a mess.

    • @speedoflightglass
      @speedoflightglass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya not sure ,, you will make it work just use a paper of kiln wash on the shelf

    Hi there, love the video and the dichro! If I ever do dichro dots I alway get square bling in the middle of the round dot. What do I do wrong?

    • @speedoflightglass
      @speedoflightglass  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like dichro on dichro . Maybe assure the touching surfaces are fusible

    • @marianblaauw
      @marianblaauw 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@speedoflightglass No, it's dichro, capped with clear glass that is compatible

    • @uglypatriot5171
      @uglypatriot5171 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@marianblaauw sounds like bottom layer not fusing? Make sure kiln temp hot enough to fuse both layers.

    • @lindawillshare7825
      @lindawillshare7825 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure the clear cap is slightly bigger than the dichro and it'll enclose the bottom layer completely.
