I think the failure is from their energy. I mean, the dance is really hard and consume a lot of energy. It will effect their voice. They're using too much energy to dance so the vocal in live heard bad. Not just FYN, Dayeon's chorus and others members sounds better in studio ver cause they can focus in vocal.
I was so confused because the reason (or there maybe other reasons but not aired) is that Su RuiQi doesn't sing the baem baem baem part with 'flare' (i think? I forgot the term used by the masters) but she still sang it during the performance even tho she switched parts with Fu Ya Ning(bless this gurl, must be under a lot of pressure) 🥴

Now I know that she couldn’t do it properly because of the stress and pressure she felt from trying to do it on stage in such a short time. Honestly the Planet Masters did this performance dirty, it could have been so much better if they never caused so much chaos and drama and gave constructive criticism instead

Ruiqi is an amazing vocalist for sure, but Yaning's voice is made for this part. I don't blame her for choking in the live performance, she was nervous due to the pressure and probably practiced so hard she overexerted herself due to the lack of time to practice since they switched parts so suddenly. also I need Hikaru to have more lines/center time for future performances. even though she keeps getting small parts I can never take my eyes off her and always replay her parts because they're never enough

@Alex it strained because she was having a hard time belting the high note because of two reasons, the difficulty of the dance and the part where she spinned her neck before the high note which cause it to strain, and two because she only had 2 days of practice since they changed main vocal for stupid reasons by the masters

the masters are actually right about yaning trying too hard, if she relaxes a bit like in the studio ver it sounds so good. In the live ver she uses tough girl voice that she uses for rap more. like 1:57 sounds so good, but in the live version she uses the growling type she uses for raps
She only uses that more strained, tense voice because the choreography doesn't allow her to take in enough breath. Especially before the high note - because she has to do a 360 degree turn with her neck, a lot of the breath she's taken in prior is limited and thus the only way to belt out the note without flipping into head voice is to thin it out majorly, resulting in her more raspy tone. In reality, this was the best decision she could make. If she tried to hit it with the lighter tone it's likely she would have flipped and it'd sound worse. At least by thinning her voice out, she's able to sustain the note; it's just extremely strained. It's just a poor link between choreography and composition. Knowing where the high note is, the choreography makes it impossible to take in enough breath, then right before the sustained high note, forces you to exhaust it and raise your larynx due to the head twisting move. And yet, she's still expected to belt out a 6+ second high note. It's just unreasonable to expect anyone to do that, even an incredibly skilled vocalist.

no it was definitely fyn who made a mistake, not only did the planet masters comment on the failure to complete the note, but fyn's voice is generally not meant for higher register sustained notes, she has a deep and grizzly voice that works better as an alto or sub-supporting.

no it was definitely fyn who made a mistake, not only did the planet masters comment on the failure to complete the note, but fyn's voice is generally not meant for higher register sustained notes, she has a deep and grizzly voice that works better as an alto or sub-supporting.
