Loved this video! The Seibu Saitama Lions stadium is at the end of the Seibu line next to Tama lake, a big detour. You could do multiple videos in that area, the baseball stadium, the snow dome, Totoro hiking trails, the amusement park etc
We definitely explored the Toto show room in Tokyo! It was like an ikea full of bathroom stuff and people having house planning meetings. It was worth it.
It's interesting how 9-10 minutes is classed as a long wait on the Japanese monorail. The London Underground is fairly good considering it's the oldest in the world, but I regularly take quieter routes and the Overground which can regularly involve 10+ minute waits. Just shows the efficiency of Japanese railways and inter-city rail systems.
here in rural US it can take over 30 minutes for a public bus to come, and that's assuming your city has a public transit system. I just moved into a smaller area and they dont even have a public transit system. All they have is a Greyhound (separate company that shuttles people between major cities/into bigger ones) that comes twice a day. Safe to say I was astonished when they first said 10 minuets was a long time, when I would have to wait over half an hour for a bus when I was in my hometown with a large public university.
42:00 From Kamikitadai Station, there are plans to extend the line west to meet up with the Hachiko Line at Hakonegasaki Station - $720 Million for 7 stations and 7 km of track.
I like the suspended monorails, like in the Kamakura/Enoshima area because they're like a bus in the sky flying over the road below... but they're especially rare. They do require less infrastructure than the train-on-top monorail though so its a shame there aren't more of them.
You said about events at Ramen Square. If I remember correctly, back in olden times (pre-covid) the idol group Kamen Joshi used to have their trainee group performing there quite often. That was 4 years ago now and I expect that it was stopped due to Covid
Just as I was thinking “hey there hasn’t been a video from that sweet couple “ BOOM there you are 😀 Thanks for an enjoyable time 🥰 And yes Eric that cemetery was definitely cold and impersonal feeling
Hi. I just recently found your channel and am enjoying it very much. I was a kid running around Tachikawa and Nakagami. It's been years. And vears. And years. Pre-Tama Monorail. Well, it was under construction. I could actually see the construction of the railway from my front door. But unfortunately my parents uprooted me and practically at gunpoint forced me to move to the states. It was so traumatic.😂 The only monorail I've ever ridden was in Las Vegas. Not impressive. 🙄 I look forward to watching your videos and following you guys on your life's journey. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu! ✌️😊
I wish the train came every nine mins where I live if you miss the train you have 30 mins to sit and wait for the next one ( i'm from staten Island NY and the local train runs every 30 mins and after 9pm it's every hour ) .
Nice to see you eating in a restaurant! I believe because sandwiches are eating with your fingers it is customary not to eat inside for some people. Some establishments consider sit down food to be with a fork knife spoon etc. I’m not sure ,I think it’s about table service and manors loo
Please consider doing a video of the tachikawa lalaport…is something that would interest the rest of us outside japan..to compare such a slice of life thing that we can compare with what we have in our countries .
Its so hard for us to see whats different about it because we haven't been in places like that outside of Japan for so long, I don't even know what we'd show hahaha.
The monorail line switching system is really similar to Maglev's system, and those things are suuuper expensive to build and maintain! Great point about the way Japan "does" suburbs, as they seem pretty integrated with the overall metropolitan areas. The US suburbs are frankly disheartening... That faux NY Ramen place was something else in the "what were they thinking?" scale!
Why don't you guys visit the Moonies building, too in Hachioji soon? Toto is abbreviation for Toyo Toki. Also recommend to visit Tame Reien, which is located near by the American School/ASJ of Chofu.
I know you've covered this in a past video but i couldn't find it, nor does a google search help... Feeka, feca? What is it? i thought like Morning tea but I mentioned it to a Japanese friend of mine and she had no idea what I was talking about, is it a Swedish word? Thanks guys for solving this one (or link to the video where you explain it) :)
There's actually a benefit to alternate spellings that immediately occurred to my easily confused @$$ 😂 These rail locations may be mistaken for one another easily without some obvious distinctions. My main complaint with the arrangement of rails in NYC was exactly that; I ended up going the wrong direction due to no clear indications on which way was which in some places.
I still don't understand exactly what IS tofu. The first and only time I tried it (I think it was in a salad) I assumed it was cheese. That's how it looked. YEGADS, IT WAS NOT CHEESE. It was kinda slimy or... it was like biting into a piece of fatty gelatin. I just can't do it.
sorry i haven't commented lately some how my bell got un-clicked. I did miss a month not feeling well (not the C19) just old age. then I went away with not internet. Just notice I haven't even play Minecraft since July.
Omg, how do you cope? 10 minutes between trains.... Try north of Sweden, 6 busses a day, miss it and there is only one option, get your happy face on and thumb up.

Kyde's mirrored sunglass's have "Smokey and the Bandit" vibes.

18:22 Ok, how many Erics long was that blue dragonfly?! Or was that just a close up from the camera? Dude looks like a small bird!

That bendy bit where the monorail switches is just mind-bending! It looks like an illusion.
The staircase to nowhere is very much my kind of thing, thank you.
Eric look up lactase persistence. Fascinating stuff. Also kyde is looking a bit like sarah connor with her aviators. love it!

The Showa Memorial Park is really lovely during the Autumn season (especially the Gingko avenue).
Perhaps a video, touring the park, during Autumn? ^^

That track switching was super cool 😮
In Kansai (and certain other regions, I suspect,) beef is called “oniku” or “niku.” In Kansai, pork cannot be “oniku!”

Darlings, don't stress about a 9 minute wait time.
For a NY slice, Pizza Slice in Daikanyama always hits the spot… At least, in my uneducated, non New Yorker, opinion… 😜
its ok, kyde finally got into the donut packet!
To me Toto is an 80's band, You say Toilet, some would agree.
An stairwell to nowhere, somehow I can relate...

there are a lot of different types of tofu. Like, a TON. I prefer tofu with more texture to it that what it sounds like you had.

Or how about where we grew up in The States where despite being in an urban environment there is literally no public transport.
Well you learned how to ride a bike fast...@@kydeanderic
