    As having a 1997 outback just like this one I can proudly say these little things are tanks when it comes to off-road and being reliable

      not as good as a 96 with 5MT. The 2.2 was the best

      IMO they were never as good as this with the 2.2. They never did figure out how to stop blowing head gaskets in the 2.5

    My first car was the 96’ 5 speed 2.2L. Paid $900 for it. Never had an issue with it. Drove like a sedan and had excellent economy and ride. I wish I never got rid of it. It was the same color red.

    The 2.2 5MT was the best outback of all. 2.2 squirrels under the hood. I wonder if there's still 100hp under there..
