you're prob the best family blogger honestly. like the focus isn't on ziya, but we know she's there, she's not a working a child, she just lives there lol and its honestly refreshing. you're amazing at keeping a balance/distacne
@@winniwavanna5143 I'm sure somewhere down the line, there's some mixing in her bloodline, but both her parents are light-skinned/ black and she identifies with being black.
I love that what you do allows you so much flexibility with your daughter. I feel like you can really raise her the way you want, pay attention to detail, and be there when she needs you. Traditional jobs are amazing but sometimes it’s hard on the kids. I just admire what you’ve built and how it’s created such a positive family environment.
Your comment is everything! Traditional jobs are not so great for children. Especially, on a single mom who does not have as much support like Raven does. During pandemic, I finally realized how much I missed out on my children’s lives who are now 17 and 18. Working long hours at the traditional jobs doesn’t benefit kids at all.
Ziya’s big brown eyes make my heart melt especially when she looks up at you! Like how could you ever say no to her lol 😍🥺 I want a little girl so bad!!!
Sooo important to have an emergency kit. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again. Inspired to get my life together in that regard too! Make sure to get a generator if you haven’t already. ❤️
So glad you are back! It's always good to take a break, and slow down for moment. I can't wait to see the finished pool, and your office. You are so right to be cautious when hiring people to help you. Your home is your personal space so not just anybody should be able have access to it. There are a lot of things for you to consider, and it only makes sense for you to be a little hesitant. The important thing is what feels right for you. I hope you find someone you trust and feel comfortable with because that is very important. I'm really looking forward to more of your vlogs with updates on this home, and for new homes in the future.
Love that she’s fluent in speaking Spanish. My son is going to be 2 on the 21st and he’s been learning sign language for a while and I love knowing that he knows more sign language than I do.
Hey Raven! Enjoyed the vlog and Ziya is looking like a big girl. I really love her jewelry pieces. Also, as far as the chairs and stroller and things like that look for your local women’s shelter that accepts donations where they could use those items to help get back on their feet.
Hey Raven, have you ever considered feeding therapy? It is a great way to help find the most effective way to introduce someone to new foods. My niece was a picky eater and it was a struggle to get to try new foods. After some therapy sessions she slowly became more comfortable with trying new foods which allowed us to add different foods to her diet. Also as a behavioral therapist I learned a first then method that also helps. You could have her first take a small bite or just something even more subtle like kiss the food or lick it and then immediately give her something she loves like a fruit snack or anything highly preferred and a lot of verbal praise to reward her for just simply trying. You can apply this method to a multitude of different situations as well. Hopefully this helps you or someone else :)
Tip for preventing indoor pipe cracking and bursting in the winter: when temperatures are below freezing in the winter wasteland that is Chicago, we keep all the faucets on a low low cold drip when they’re not in use. Like barely dripping at all. This keeps them from freezing and bursting because the water is constantly running through it (and running water, even on the cold setting, is inherently warmer than solid ice). And it works 💪🏾💪🏾
So proud of you Raven. Ziya is adorable! Raven I say keep the gold chairs and light fixtures for the investment properties for staging! All the furniture your going to switch out use too. Also those gold chairs are great for a desk or vanity for Ziya, or an extra chair for guest rooms....even in her play room.
You might be able to utilize those gold chairs in your back patio area. If you could find a way to weather proof them. You could give the patio a luxury vibe... add a small table for them to fit around, for when you want to eat outside. Especially once your pool is done, and the vibes are cozy and relaxing. You and Ziya might want to have breakfast outside during the spring summer. Or if you wanted to just a brunch for your mom and grandma..
Love that you gave us a life update, you’ve definitely been missed ❤️ have you ever thought about having a work space outside of your home? I know you have a home office, but maybe having someone help you that’s not in your home space (which is personal) might alleviate some of those safety things your feeling? I cannot get over the fact that Ziya is out of the toddler stage! She’s is such. Beautiful little girl! You are so so lucky and blessed.💗💗💗💗 Be blessed and Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
Yay! Ravens back again! 😄 love when you post! 💕 I’m a health coach and wanted to share somethings that may help when you’re ready to introduce to new foods for Ziya: For Ziya, to help with introducing new foods, start for 1 month: you can add a kiddie powdered probiotic to her dairy or non-dairy yogurt or Keifer (which is like yogurt) with some fruit… that should help her gut flora… Then after one month you can try introducing a fresh fruit and veggie smoothie (these can be prepared a week at a time during food prepping day) then morning of you can add a serving of liquid toddler multivitamin to the smoothie in the morning before her breakfast (the zinc, copper and other minerals can help with the pickiness and make introducing new foods a little easier). There’s a lot of liquid multi vitamins on the market (Mary Ruth’s has great reviews) A registered dietitian (RD) or Clinical Nutritionist can help to assess to make sure there may not be any acid reflux or possibility of food intolerances that may be the root of food selectivity/picky eating and create a tailored healing plan, as well I hope this helps 🤍
It's understandable to be nervous about bringing a stranger into your home. Also, if you do get a new cat be prepared for them to maybe not like each other at first.
Also I’m not sure if bougie is a boy or not but if she gets a girl cat to be his sis , be prepared for them to possibly mate at some point and have her house full of kittens lol
Been watching you since before you found out you were pregnant and to see where you are now and how big Ziya is now is really super cool. You guys are thriving and Ziya is beautiful!! Love it.
Just an observation, I love the idea of shelves on wheels, gonna steal that! You can move the shelves to the heavy stuff and wheel it where you want to store it, ie the paint cans and home DIY. Also, storing paint for “touch-up”, try putting the paint in quart jars with labels . . . and get rid of the gallon cans.
I live in Colorado so this happens to us from time to time. And my husband and I got a generator from amazon for the house it was only $100 but its a life savor

Hey Raven, wondering if you thought about purchasing a generator in the case of a power outage ? They can get pricey and do need gas to power , but there’s a way that you can hook them up to your house so that it can provide electricity to multiple areas.. just thought about that as you show your winter emergency supplies such as the space heater that I’m assuming needs to be plugged in ? (I could be wrong). Anywhoo, just a thought. Glad you’re back ! 🙂
35:07 If you remove the training wheels and the pedals she’ll be able to get a hang of the balance thing much quicker. Training wheels tend to bend and kids lean instead of learning how to find their balance on the bike. By kicking her way forward and pulling up her feet she will catch on within a few days on her own, and can safely put down her feet without falling over. Just keep the saddle low like now so she can really plant her feet down right away so she will feel safe and in control.
