I watched this whole video and this is more true than lots of people might initially think. Whenever you even take a week or two off, the algorithm will stop recommending your content to at least half your audience, if not more depending on how long your break was. And I've uploaded consistently after one of my breaks (daily to every other day), and all the videos were below a 7/10 in TH-cam studio, so much so that I felt the need to private them in case it was ruining the chances for my other videos to be promoted as well. I'm currently taking a 1-2 month break because of being sick (completely out of my control) and I'm scared for how my next video will perform. Hopefully this gets fixed soon and thank you for expressing very relatable issues with this platform, Siah.

I remember the old TH-cam; no crazy clickbait and brainrot. there were authentic TH-camrs, heartfelt moments, and less short form content. Nowadays people have less base emotional connection with anybody they would view because they are numbed by the overstimulation of the modern content creation world. Love you Sia.

Being a small creator is difficult, even as a full time college student. I’m constantly thinking about how my channel will perform everyday, and my creative video topics. I know that school is important but the urge to become successful in TH-cam feels so strong more than ever. There are small creators I watch that I want to help grow because I know how HARD it is to be a small creator, but I myself am a small channel.
Being a small channel takes longer to build before you can gain the snowball effect. I just started doing reaction content back in march of this year & I’m just now starting to gain some attention. It takes time. Don’t give up

I work retail, but the mental stress behind trying to come up with new ideas can be nerve racking, can fuck with your self esteem, especially if people don't understand the work involved. Its basically being an entertainer, it may look like alot of fun, but there's still stress involved
Yeah TH-cam not suggesting content because you take a mental break or a video has less views that previous is crazy true. I took a 2 week mental break back in July while still uploading at least once a week and since then my views been down like crazy. Im grinding to get them back up, but I'm slowly stressing myself doing so. Im a have to chillax a bit when making vids😭

This is why we all need to prioritize our own websites as content creators, and only post "ad like" videos to these platforms anymore. Commenting and watching to the end for ya, not just the algorithm demi-god. I think saying that TH-cam is still a business is a very good point. It's set up to rewards the rapid, consistent and "relevant" posters. Relevancy being a loose term. Not to mention the negativity that breeds engagement right now, on top of not even being able to really contact TH-cam if you have issues with effectively anything. The stability of being monetized is kind of like living on a financial fault line with regular tremors......side income only by this point. Mutahar (SomeOrdinaryGamers) has a main job outside TH-cam and I've always believed that's how it should be done. People have clearly proven they can build empires off Google's back, but I'm sure there's a drawback somewhere down the pipeline.....

I agree with this, I had a video go viral that was 1 of 1 a year ago, then after that all my videos went to shit. Mainly because i was obsessed with trends and made videos I didnt enjoy and was worried about numbers instead of just posting good videos, I regretted having the youtube media consume my mind on how youtube actually was. I ended up just erasing all my videos and im currently starting to make content that I would find enjoyable

Due to limited creator history, we’re limiting the number of viewers. Subscribe to this channel to help this creator reach a broader audience." TH-cam is so weird i swear.
Imma be honest with you bro, this appeared on my algorithm and I’m not subscribed to you. First time seeing your channel. But it’s truly because EVERYONE is trying to be a content creator and EVERYONE is doing the same thing. It’s so easy to log into TH-cam and see like 50-100 videos on the same topic from multiple TH-camrs. You’d have to just continuously be doing something entertaining to keep your community. Like everyday man, think of Kai or Speed. You are the same age as them maybe and you would have the same community theoretically. A person can only watch so much stuff at a time and consumers usually choose the best options. Not saying your channel isn’t the best in your space, but more so saying when there are so many people doing the same thing, it makes it easy for consumers to just watch things at random without consistency and move on to the next best thing.
I honestly think it’s gonna bite these platforms in the ass long-term to try to play the instant gratification game, ranking inflammatory, controversial or trendy stuff over other content because it’s destroying peoples attention span, bringing out the worst in society, and damaging people’s mental health. and it’s making the connection more and more shallow. i’m subscribed to hundreds of people and I never see their content. people are seeing more random faces and less of the ones they actually wanted to connect with. this is hurting the viewers and the creators. instead of watching a few creators content and forming a relationship with them like the old days of TH-cam. I honestly think it creates a competition between creators that only really benefits their own app. they are taking this model from TikTok. TikTok follows are like a bookmark. They don’t mean anything. You’re never gonna see that creator ever again unless you consciously look up their page again

I agree with this, I had a video go viral that was 1 of 1 a year ago, then after that all my videos went to shit. Mainly because i was obsessed with trends and made videos I didnt enjoy and was worried about numbers instead of just posting good videos, I regretted having the youtube media consume my mind on how youtube actually was. I ended up just erasing all my videos and im currently starting to make content that I would find enjoyable

Knowing that I don’t have to upload every single day to stress myself out, I be taking a week break for important reasons and when I upload a video after a week it don’t send to some of my subscribers or recommended my videos to others videos. Yeah bro, I'm still on that TH-cam grind, and my main channel has around 20k subs (Willcollex), but its really hard to craft even 1 video that breaks 1000 views now. It's so hard. I completely agree. I put my heart out into my edits just for someone to spam posts with no authenticity just to get more views. I don’t like comparing myself but it is crazy how authenticity is falling but I’m still gonna be successful doing this.. just reached 2k. i will humor you and remind you in 2020 they rolled out a feature that would give viewers a warning of "You have too many subscriptions compared to your number of subscribers" Craaaazy stuff bro. So to believe they have some shady dealings in the back is not farfetched.
Also, in 2022, they had a feature where they would limit views on some videos, like it was an actual feature and they would block the vid from playing and display a warning to the viewer "This video is popular! Due to limited creator history, we’re limiting the number of viewers. Subscribe to this channel to help this creator reach a broader audience."

Imma be honest with you bro, this appeared on my algorithm and I’m not subscribed to you. First time seeing your channel. But it’s truly because EVERYONE is trying to be a content creator and EVERYONE is doing the same thing. It’s so easy to log into TH-cam and see like 50-100 videos on the same topic from multiple TH-camrs. You’d have to just continuously be doing something entertaining to keep your community. Like everyday man, think of Kai or Speed. You are the same age as them maybe and you would have the same community theoretically. A person can only watch so much stuff at a time and consumers usually choose the best options. Not saying your channel isn’t the best in your space, but more so saying when there are so many people doing the same thing, it makes it easy for consumers to just watch things at random without consistency and move on to the next best thing.

I honestly think it’s gonna bite these platforms in the ass long-term to try to play the instant gratification game, ranking inflammatory, controversial or trendy stuff over other content because it’s destroying peoples attention span, bringing out the worst in society, and damaging people’s mental health. and it’s making the connection more and more shallow. i’m subscribed to hundreds of people and I never see their content. people are seeing more random faces and less of the ones they actually wanted to connect with. this is hurting the viewers and the creators. instead of watching a few creators content and forming a relationship with them like the old days of TH-cam. I honestly think it creates a competition between creators that only really benefits their own app. they are taking this model from TikTok. TikTok follows are like a bookmark. They don’t mean anything. You’re never gonna see that creator ever again unless you consciously look up their page again
Dawg this lowkey scary to think about… I’ve been wanting to do TH-cam for years now and I have posted sum videos and I’ve put up a video today, although I have deleted most my videos I’ve done over the years because I wanted to start over I’ve been uploading videos for a lil bit and to think I can blow up and it can all vanish away is crazy
