Simply superb and Isabelle is not only one of the best , but is enchantingly modest and ultra charming, ( I was honoured to briefly meet her in Madrid after her Dvorak and to be in Santander for her all Bach concert there). VIVA LA MUSICA !!!

There's an almost obsessive nature to this piece which perhaps reflects the fact Schumann was suffering from declining mental health. I find myself obsessing over it, cheerfully so far. I was astounded to hear this concerto on public radio on my way home today & immediately listened to it again once home. It is modern, effusive, deeply moving & simply gorgeous. With some works you can't wait until they end. With this one I find myself always wanting more. Brava Isabelle! Thank for bringing this work back into the light.
Oh!!!! Everybody today says Schumann music is a psychiatric study……please stop with that……

Leider wird die sensibel und auf Weltklasseniveau spielende Frau Faust vom Orchester lautstark erdrückt-ich möchte dieses Konzert, einer meiner Lieblinge, nicht so unsensibel laut im Orchester hören.sonst danke Frau Faust!!!!Ps.Mir kommen immer wieder bei diesem Konzert die Tränen.
Mir ergeht es ganz gleich. Die Melodie der Violine wird erschlagen, leider.
Sie haben den Nagel auf den Kopf getroffen das sollte man eigentlich von einem professionellen Klangkörper erwarten wie man einen Solisten begleitet..
Der DIRIGENT ist dafür verantwortlich. Und sie auch. Dafür gibt es proben. Da muss der Balance geregelt werden.

Far superior to his piano concerto. Yet Brahms and Clara thought it was the work of a madman.
Ihr Vibrato klingt wie ein Zittern, mehr als ein Ausdrucksmittel. Eigentlich dürfte das bei einer international gefeierte solistin nicht sein. Sie kann kein ruhiges vibrato machen. Und das ist AUCH ein technisches problem.
Wonderful playing but I am distracted by what she is wearing. The whole orchestra is formal and yet she is not and looks out of place. She is completely casual. What these soloists are wearing today is disrespectful to the orchestras in front of which they stand! This must be addressed. Proper decorum is important. She isn’t alone in this. Scads of other performers are also wearing inappropriate concert attire . In Fort Worth all our men are in white tie and tails. Most of the women wear black blouses or shirts and trousers. They look like stage hands. It makes me wonder why the men bother. I was so proud to see James Ehnes, Midori, Itzhak Perlman, Benjamin Baker and several other soloists in full formal attire. It really adds to the atmosphere and makes for a much more pleasurable experience.
