The first gaited horse I ever rode was a one-eyed Standardbred at a summer camp when I was a kid. Other kids didn't want to ride him because they thought his empty eye socket was scary. I didn't mind... and I was in for a treat. Not one speck of trot in that beautiful old soul. Man, how I love a good Standardbred... that mare is something else!

This video bought tears to my eyes just from being amazed by your mare, in my youth the early 80s i helped train Tennessee Walkers, that had good things and bad , im in South Western Virginia,to me it's a good thing to see younger melinated men that have horses of that QUALITY , keep up the good work!!!!

My brother and I worked at a good riding stable in our teen years. It just happened to have a 17 hand singlefooting paint, and I was the one who spent most of my 'assignments' on
that horse on our bridle paths through the Catskill Mountain trails. Only problem I can
remember was he'd easily pass the cantering horses but at times was difficult to stop. I'm
sure that was the reason he was sold to a riding stable. He wasn't a picture of loveliness but was an absolute pleasure to ride! We probably spent 4 or 5 hours a day on the trails.

What a wonderful mare. Enjoy every minute with her. She reminds me of the little saddle horse mare I had years ago, who was fast, competitive, and loved to go, until you put a baby on her. She would get that same soft look in her eyes, and walk like she had precious china on her back. What a gift.

Poor horses. They are obviously in a state of discomfort. One only needs to look at the way they have a death-hold on the reins, jerking them back so much the horse’s head goes unnaturally high. Also, their ears are straight back. And the riders are seated too far back. Horse’s spines are not meant to carry so much weight on that part of the spine. This is so disgusting.

I hope you’re protecting their feet? Going that hard on asphalt or pavement without protective shock absorbing boots on their feet can cause hoof, bone and joint damage over time! It’s just irresponsible not to protect such a gorgeous hard working horse. If you won’t protect them then pace them on grass or soft dirt only!

Keg shoes were originally regular shoes that were packed in kegs..now they are a standard shoe..not the heavier shoes seen on show horses...the ky.mtn.horses are also shown in keg shoes
