This is a great start to your series. Very reflective and philosophical is a sense. I connected with your guest when he kind of silently became emotional on discussing the man he is today after speaking of his past. Just speaking and relieving yourself of the weight of everything and what you've overcome...just to be. It's quite powerful. I also thought the point you brought up on a transwomans worst fear versus a transmans was a compelling moment in the interview. Looking forward to more of the series!
thanks again Diamond for another informative and personal video. thank your guest for sincerely sharing his experience and for talking about his experience. in the ER and dealing with gendered space. (side note: is this the same vlogger/spoken word artist from like 4 years ago who has a wife that loves and sang to him?). if so I miss seeing them on YT.
Do you see the difference in the way she interviewed him versus the way she interviewed the transwoman in part 2. There was a lot less compassion and sensitivity to his experience and comparison that minimized the potential trauma of his experience. There was a lot of "what else...."
+wild reed you are over thinking it. me and tracey had one hour to make a video i never met her prior. There was not comfort or previous interaction....i had to hit record and just let her talk and ask whatever came up...no pre planning....Zion is a different story....we knew each other from youtube prior..i knew his ex...i flew to when he lived for a few days ...we hung out went to poetry jams when to food place we never been to...when to a spiritual shop and bought tarot cards even... I had 3 and half hours of footage with him that i had to cut down because we were open and talking like old friends....and if there was anyone of the two that i would have more compassion for is him because we connect on so many levels....that my brother. ...what you are preceiving as "lack of compassion" is not that ...
this is a new series that I'm doing called The Tribe. I will be showcasing other trans stories and people that I like and think that you would like to
