FALCI scythe factory, 2023

This video is a snapshot of the scythe blade production at the Falci factory in Dronero, Italy.
My intent is to raise awareness and appreciation of what goes into forging a scythe blade. While the basic process is very similar in most scythe factories, some particular steps vary, which will have a slight to noticeable impact on the final product. In the past, when scythe users depended on the scythe's quality, the competition was driven by providing the best. The users' needs and choices are changing today, which is impacting the scythe industry. As the scythe industry is evolving, there is a delicate balance between retaining the essential properties of the tool and keeping its place in the competitive market. That's why informed users who appreciate and demand top-quality products have some influence on where the scythe industry is heading.
