- This week we dusted off the old Quest X5 and put it up against the New Simplex Lite, we decided to do this because they both are very affordable metal detectors with the quest been aroung the £165 mark and the Simplex been aroung the £180 mark.
Great day out digging and it was fun to see how they both did with the targets :-)

Great watching guys. Bought the Quest Q20 for my brother a couple of years back and really impressed with it. Ground balancing built in too. Not so readily available now it seems but think it's a great little machine. Another good comparison for anyone starting out 👏

Loved it guys! - I experimented this week, by carving the show up into 4 x 5 minute sections... I marked each of these, 'Celebrating' with a nip 🥃of scotch!, as follows: 1:00 = Glenfiddich 12yr, 6:00 = Glenfiddich 12yr, 11:00 = Talisker Skye, 16:00 = Talisker Skye... It was most enjoyable fellas! Tnx everso guys, and really look fwd to these shows... 🙏 Bobby 🐭

I like the way you do the comparison of two different detectors and the readings especially give All the settings and your videos will be the best

Ohh Paul mate it was freezing, Rick moaned for half the morning about his fingers and I moaned the rest of the day about the 4 bulls

Good video guy's liked the test shows what ya can get for not a lot of money, that 10p (if not mistaken) had Britannia on the rear and Victoria on the front, enjoyed that cheers 👍

They really are OK machines :-) we don't just say it, that x5 worked a treat, they don't get as deep as some of the more expensive machines but if your wanting to get in to metal detecting or you want a machine to metal detected now and again them any of these 2 are great 👍

Great video I use the x5 I run it on coin all metal with the sens 71 and I don’t use the depth gauge 😂 that’s useless I just go by the sound of the tone but you are right about it sounds good especially when you hit a coin. thanks for sharing 👍

I’ve got the quest Q30 as a spare to my Nox 800 it’s a little bit chattery but found plenty of money on the beach.
There not bad machines really, good for the money that's for sure
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel yes mate worth it but couldn't stand the chattering on the beach. Nox 800 forever ☺️
I do like how the Quest is so much quieter than the Simplex when it's not even close to the target but then the Simplex you still hear from it and the Simplex EMI Sparky and you don't hear anything from the Quest 😮....... but Target's Signal's.....
I wonder if the simplex is just more sensitive and that's why it's noisy, that's one thing we didn't really do was a comparison on depth as most targets where similar depths
@@TheMetalDetectingChannel And after watching the video again I think the Quest is the best one for this video and I Had the Simplex and I have chased a few ghost Signals that weren't there at the Swing Back but it being more sensitive than the other Detector is that a target or a problem and I need to be able to Fix that if it's something else that I can change but it's a turn on and go with it detector but I got use to it and I have since Traded it out now and No MORE.... but I would rather have a Detector that isn't going off on everything that is metal and I don't Dig it all and I know that you guys do that but I don't have anything that old and You Have a Great Historical Type of Hunt's over there that needs a Detector like the Simplex , That is Super Sensitive to Everything.....

Spin a disk were doing bigger coils for the X5
I'm not sure 😕 I know they have taken over Quest after Joan Allen shut down. When we was affiliated with Spin they didn't deal in Quest but we are LP affiliated now and they done deal in Quest either lol

Not so bad. My old Tesoro Lobo supertraq has the same noise.
