Did the ride mid April 2012 and rode down the track as you did to avoid the walkers and got a bollocking from the train driver. But carried on anyway. I've read loads of blogs saying the rangers path is a great ride but with bag sized loose rocks it wasn't a great ride and probably walk half of it until near the bottom. I wish now I would have gone down the up route. But glad I did it and crossed it off my list. The last path back to the town is great
After watching your vid again, I am sure after a year and 7 months the track has deeper ruts in the bottom half especially where the switchbacks are. But great effort for getting down.
Ace vid. But is riding at the side of the train track cheating a bit or is that a preferred route? We are doing this ride for the first time mid April.
Knackers! Great vid dude. Just missed the Voluntary ban. September now! Bloody ramblers!
Looks ace, doing this next month, hope we get the same weather.

Did it yesterday, awesome but the push up is a killer.

Unless you go up at 6am and get down before 10am which is do able in mid summer.
Can you push your bike up before 1700hrs?! Then thrash down as the clock strikes?
what bikes did you use?
how long did the descent take you?
