I used to have a fish at my step dads and one at my mums but they died and my mum said that at some point she will buy me an axolotl because she found out that they sell them near us so I was really happy since they’re my favourite animal
Reminder to always quarantine before dumping an aquatic animal into an already established aquarium. Glad everything worked out, sometimes it doesn't end good. When the animal is sick and spreads it around to the other one.
So incredibly curious how many will actually make it to viable axolotls. I will be watching from the edge of my seat every step of the way for this! Good Luck 🤞
Moving the parents is far easier. The parents basically were in a new setup after removing their sponges either way . Its ideal to set up the breeding pair in a breeding setup first off , but this video appeared to have come from luck .
It's not like there's literally any money in breeding these things, anyway. They're dirt cheap and most owners have more than they know what to do with. Whoever's buying these for 30 dollars a pop should honestly be committed to a mental asylum. You can ordinarily get as many as you like for free, if you know anyone who has a proven breeding pair. I know one of these has the glofish gene, but I don't recall that adding anything to the value. If anything, it's a detractor. Our family friend sells their axolotl to a local university, and they don't even take the glow in the dark ones.
I just bought two for 50$ a piece (Lucy’s, not sure if they have the green protein she said they might), and it took me almost a year to get one, the pet shop that gets them posts on Facebook and they are gone within an hour or two. They sell a hundred or so at a time
Hi I need advice, I was hoping you could make a video or teach me how to seek the babies for a profit. Mines had 307 babies all hatched last night this is their second batch and thought this is a great way to start a small business how do you sell yours in a more professional manner thank you
Hey just a heads up, you should do 100% water changes daily with the babies they are very sensitive to water parameters and it's the only way to guarantee survival, also API is not save for Axolotls as it contains aloe Vera which is toxic, use seachem prime or fritz conditioner, good luck !! ❤️
Hey Christopher Scott so I don’t have any axolotls but I was planning on getting one but ended up changing my mind a year or two ago I ended up getting an African rope fish a really cool fish I think you should search up and bring up to finactic I hope I spelt that right lmao no no sorry but let me get back on topic to answer your questions about if having air pump or no air pump in your breeding bins are good or not so well I’ve been breeding Cory doras catfish for a year now and my first 3 months they would breed lay the eggs I’d collect them and put them in a breeding bin that’s was kinda small with no air pumps and only had 2 baby corys survive out of like 60 eggs then I started using a better breeding bin with more space that was actually a glass 3 gallon tank with a sponge filter in it and then the corys ended up breeding again and then that time I had like idk maybe 125 or 150 eggs and had like 100 survive so I’d say having an air pump and constant air flow is best for breeding and having good success rate also love your videos and hope you see this much love
I wish you had sponge filters for bigger tanks I mean 55 you know 120 gallon cuz a lot of people do like sponge filters and if they had some like that they love them but 10 gallons that's hard to find somebody with 10 gallon tank
Well oxygen is absolutely necessary in any water with any creature yet nature uses plants both on land and in water because they both filter and oxygenate but in aquariums with artificial plants they have nothing except your artificial filters that should put oxygen back into water but I don't think to much oxygen is a thing so it can't hurt but your set up are the closest thing to their natural habitat and which is why your creatures are reproducing because they are thriving and I wouldn't worry about what others think because what your doing is working.
It's crazy how these guys have made it into the pet industry they used to be used as bait for bass fishing if I remember correctly they were $0.50 a piece back then late 90s
Really cool to see the eggs and hear about your experiences with these guys! I wanted to ask though, if you have separated out the parents from each other to give mama a break! From my research, breeding is very energy consuming for the mama (to the point of making it harder for her to stay healthy and recover from illness) and she needs breaks to replenish her energy! Otherwise the male will end up breeding her to death eventually. I hope for your axys a good life!
I informed you cause it seemed like you I’m a axolotl breeder and you need air cause it adds stress to the axolotl because every couple of minutes they go to the surface and makes they uncomfortable
Umm if I could name the axolotl I would name it Sandy from SpongeBob because it reminds me my 2 months old cat that's died and it will be really grateful if you can actually name it like that thank you.
Well here's another video that I didn't get the notification for. IDK why this keeps happening. I tried unsubscribing and subscribing, but I guess that didn't fix the problem.😔 Do you still have the wild Axolotl?
Axolotl should only be kept together well breeding and then should be separated as the male can breed the female to death and should only be breeding a couple times a year as it can shorten the females life expectancy if they breed to much.
Do you have an axolotl? What are your thoughts about them? Thanks for watching, I am truly grateful!
I think star would be a good name because it glows in the dark
Name her Barbra
I want an Axolotl but i only have 1 aquarium whit small fish... PS. Name her Coco!

Just to let you know keep that water level low as to not put pressure on the egg.

Would you have to do that with adult axolotl’s or just babies?
The water changes just for the babies, but the dechlorinator recommendation is critical for both adults and babies.

My only concern is your supposed to have a 20gallon min and add 10gallons to every axolotl u add
Always wanted an axolotl, but too afraid that I won't be able to take care of it correctly.
It’s not as hard as some people make it out to be
Basically an aquarium critter with more personality
What do they eat?
Oxygen tubes isn’t really necessary but it’s not bad for the Xo Xo’s (that’s what I call all my baby axolotls)
i think a cool name for roses gf should also be flower based. like lily or daisy since shes also white
I think it is named after the singer axel rose

I don’t. I actually traded him for this female.
@@christopher_scott I would say that you made a fantastic trade. Considering that your getting 60 some odd babies from that trade. WOOP WOOP.

Just came here to say that. I'm glad someone said it. Hopefully he responds to this, and isn't keeping them together full time!
Hopefully he will see this as I love Axolotl and keep them myself. I have 6. 3 females and 3 males.
I absolutely have them separated!
