She was a great master of illusion and knew how to use her aura of mysterious beauty over her entire lifetime. I saw here in one of her cabaret concerts in the last 1870's when she was in her mid-70's but she still appeared to be the perfect beauty that she was in her films in the 30's and her delivery of her songs was exquisite. She was such a genius at "presentatioiin" that she outlasted all the others of her time except Hepburn.
I remember back in the 1980's, maybe early 90's, Madonna expressed interest in being in a remake of "The Blue Angel". I read that Marlene Dietrich said, "I do not know who this Miss Madonna person is but I am the Blue Angel". I'd say that settled that! I've seen of Marlene Dietrich's films but of those I have seen my favorite is "Witness for the Prosecution".
There are many mistakes. This picture of her in stage fright from 1950 with Alfred Hitchcock and than pictures from the 1940s. And than the picture from "just a gigolo" from 1979. And than pictures from the 50/60s
