Both will work with the chipset but modules will take awhile because that software is embedded to the hardware and probably has its own chip for processing inputs. You will probably have to setup modules in Aya space first then boot into Linux then setup again in steam input/gamescope and again in a emulator. I'm sure ETA is already working on it!
Ngl I never considered an Ayaneo device, but the concept of modular buttons/sticks like this has me ITCHING. I need other manufacturers to do the same.

@sevc007 exactly a 7inch is old & doesn't look as good as an 8inch screen. Having a 7 inch was cool but it is getting boring and after having an 8 inch screen handheld pc for almost a year that is the perfect size for anyone's eyes.

Can you please test the oculink connection with benchmarks. I really want to use it as a living room console replacement and game on the go! Awesome first look btw. Super hyped about the A3
I’d really like to see the following tested to get a good sense of how it performs: 1. Baldur’s Gate 3 2. Hogwart’s Legacy 3. Bloodborne on ShadPS4 4. TotK (or other switch game) on Ryubing’s fork of Ryujinx 5. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero 6. Ratchet and Clank A Rift Apart Preferably at around maybe 25W which I view as around the point of diminishing returns. It could also be interesting to compare to 15 or 18W though. As an aside, I think this is a really innovative product and I’m excited to see all of the progress ayaneo and gaming handhelds in general have made in the last few years.
This is pretty cool but I think they should have made the angle of the modules more inline with a controller. They need to be more angled and the analog stick to the buttons need to be a little bit closer. I still can't believe how many manufacturers still don't get this right, as that gives the best comfort for transitioning the thumb from analog sticks to buttons as well as less strain when gripping.
I have almost all of their products. Fantastic toys! Would love to see thermals. Some of their stuff gets a little warm to the touch after a while especially in the grips
I am more interested in seeing if Ayaneo continues to use these modules in the future. It'd be cool if these modules were compatible with future handhelds and possibly third party accessory makers could put their spin on it
I purchased every last handheld device from this company. And I was going to pre-order this device, but I’ve always been disappointed with their software or handheld devices so I’m skipping this one until they do better.
Exactly what I want, but I'm going to wait for a steep sale. What they're offering in their indiegogo page is awful. The most expensive option is the only one that comes bundled with the modular controls. Not only that, I just don't understand how there's not a option for 32gb ram with 2tb storage. Why is that SSD option only for the 64gb model? Gaming handhelds don't need that much ram.
In a review, after all the standard benchmarks, I’d like to see how far u can bump up the tdp, over clock the cpu, gpu, and ram. All done plugged in with the disabled battery. How far can it be pushed before it thermal throttles or gets unstable? Basically this would answer how well it could perform if plugged in and hooked up to a TV as an Xbox replacement that you can take with you.
Looks pretty cool actually. I wasn't sure this would be a good idea but I'm happy to see I was wrong. Only thing I worry about is that eject mechanism breaking. Screen looks great too.
I’m curious about the on screen keyboard interface. I know that this device isn’t geared towards productivity etc, but steamOS does a really good job of integrating the on screen keyboard when required in games. I would love to see how this device handles that especially for non steam games or quick web browsing.
I like Ayaneo and I think they make great devices but 1. Post sale support is still terrible 2. They still pump out too many devices that I'm not sure they can support.
The OCuLink port is a massive W. This thing can replace a whole desktop gaming rig. The thunderbolt 4 on devices like the Rog Ally X are too hamstrung by their bandwidth limits to be a true desktop replacement.
I really want a controller with this level of modularity. Especially the option to have the facebuttons in the secondary position and both analog sticks in the primary.
So far it sounds like the best counter to a Steamdeck other than it being windows based. The swappable controls are a litteral godsend solution for people who want specific controls set ups whether they want Symmetrical or Asymmetrical, PS, XB or even Nindo Pro-controller with both sticks up top. The price is still ludicrous but only a little more expensive than a 1tb OLED 'Deck for the cheapest version and twice the price for the most expensive. It would certainly be on my list as a potential upgrade but I'd still personally wait to see what Valve cooks up first before buying anything else at this point.
