Tupac passed in 1996, I remember that day so well. It's crazy that he was only 25 too, he never really got to live but yet he did so much in his short life.
We will never know what impact Tupac may or may not have had on society. Think about this, could you imagine what the world might be like if Dr. Martin Luther King, or Malcolm X, or Abraham Lincoln, or Fredrick Douglas, or Rosa Parks or any number of people who tried to make this world better had died at the age of 25?
He passed away at 25 but was writing lyrics the average 45 year old would be proud of.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news of PAC’s passing. The same with Big. I was a sophomore in college,UofA,and my girlfriend and I were going to get something to eat in the morning when we heard that Big was killed the previous night in LA. I was like “NO” and the first thing my girlfriend said was “Oh,Ms. Wallace”. She was a huge Big. fan also. My girlfriend was a freshman and living in the dorms,Coranado, and when we got back with our food so many people were playing Big tracks out of their dorm rooms.
Tupac did an interview at age 17 for his high school. You'd think he was a 35 year old man how he thoroughly answered questions and you can see his self awareness as well as worldly knowledge. But If you think about it, he had live grow and move fast being that he only lived another 8 years.
Also Tupac always said his music was never “gangsta rap” he was just depicting to world how it was living and growing up in the ghetto

Absolutely, most people, casual hip hop fans, that are intrigued by 2pac, call his music 'gangsta rap', which it never was.
He was a modern poet.. his voice and cadence are instantly recognizable. Inspired a generation.❤️

Eminem said Tupac was the best writer in rap. Tupac's was raised by Black Panthers. Right before he got his record deal he was going to join the Panther party full time. I love his range as an artist. The gangsta rap came after he been shot up and locked up. That's why his music sounds so different. He was angry when he came home.
One of my favorites by Tupac. My high school speech teacher played this song for us in class, and we analyzed the lyrics. I went to a pretty rough school in a poorer area, so it meant a lot to us back then.

I couldn't help tearing up watching this. I miss music with messages like this. I miss that time in my life. I miss 2Pac. This song is really powerful to me. Sadly, a lot of the issues he was addressing then are still relevant today. I think about the line, "we'll have a race of babies that hate ladies" and look at all these young so-called "men" and how they barely even respect their own mothers, let alone their female counterparts. It really breaks my heart.

If you really want to see Tupac's talent, check out the movie "Gridlock'd" with Tim Roth...there you will see Tupac's range, also his earlier film "Juice"...he wrote poetry, gave speeches...he was just ultra talented, a true artist.

My husband was a huge Tupac fan back in high school and he loved this reaction video. I’m about 5 yrs older than Dave and the kids I knew who were skateboard kids were really into more like Red Hot Chili Peppers and 311. It was very diverse though, some kids were into hip hop or punk.
The thing about rap is its rhyming better known as poetry just like other genres of music. Alot of rappers record positive songs you just have to be a fan and listen to their catalogs. It's more common than people think. Classic example of don't judge a book by its cover. Theirs some rappers that rap some pretty knowledgeable topics that you have to rewind and listen over and over to hear every word or metaphor.

Pac grew up mostly in Baltimore and went to the school of performing arts here….he was NEVER. 2pac lived from Birth in 71 to 84 in NY. Then from 84 to 88 in Baltimore. In 88 his family moved to Cali.
Biggie and Tupac lived a couple of years and Baltimore they didn't spend a whole lives here

rappers like NAS, TUPAC, RAKIM, KRS ONE KOOL G RAP didnt glamorize street life they wrote about what they saw every day and were like street journalist but ppl from afar always labled it as nothing but bling and glorifying violence, but most part not that at all
