Wow. This is pretty dramatic footage, considering how badly that boy was floundering and how quickly he was being swept away. It was divine intervention that somebody that young, strong and brave was able to save them.

Saw this on the news, so grateful that everyone was safe & Travis was there! As a mother i appreciated seeing the woman embrace travis’s mom, you know she felt nothing but gratitude & an overwhelming sense of disbelief. It happens in the blink of an eye. You can just imagine the emotions that were felt in those few harrowing moments & then immediately after.
He definitely saved the boy who looked like he was panicking and going under soon for the last time. Fortunately Travis was paying attention and wanted to help. Great job. That young man will do well in life.

So when we "old" folks (40) see what we call "kids" (18) doing the right thing, we get excited. :) If your upbringing had anything to do with your choice that day, be sure to give your parents a little "thank you" too. ;)

Great job young man! This happened to me when I was a kid and I ended up joining the swim team. You never know how much an act of kindness can literally save and change your life. All he did was care about another human enough to ask if they were okay.
Way to immediately leap into action. Great job to the people on the beach not trying to get in the way, but offering a support board and letting the more experienced swimmer work.
Can't tell for sure if they are trying to go straight to shore or moving to the right a bit. Moving parallel to the shore is the best way to escape a rip current as they are usually not very wide. Then when clear of it head for shore. Doesn't seem these people knew that so good job, Travis.

The tide is no joke. I was stuck in one similar at age 15. It took me 30 minutes to get onto the beach. I do not go in past my waist now unless it's in calm water. The boy would've drowned if this kid didn't get to him.
I used to wonder that as well. I found out that not all dislikes are done by humans. There are people who run "dislike bots" that use an algorithm to give certain videos thumbs down that may compete with their own channel. Don't know if that's the case on this video or not, but it does happen.

Travis= Guardian angel. He was at the right place at the right time for the rescue.
