Is this the BEST hike in Hong Kong? Sunset Peak (Lantau Trail) | Travel Guide

This has to be one of the best hikes in Hong Kong! If you're wondering what to do in Hong Kong, we can't recommend this day trip enough. We went up Sunset Peak (part of the Lantau Trail on Lantau Island) for sunset and it was spectacular. Not going to lie, it was an unexpectedly difficult hike - mainly because of the heat. There is a far nicer trail route up from Mui Wo to country park where they began than walking up the pavement next to the road over to Tung Chung. It starts near the detached hamlet of Luk Tei Tung. If you get there for sunset, a strong head torch has to be good for the descent.

Thanks so much! It really is that easy - not sure if you've flown a drone before but it's by far the easiest to fly of any drone we've tried. Obviously it's still worth testing it out in a large open space before you get comfortable with how it flies, but it won't take long!

I think both views would be great from this peak, but the sun sets behind Lantau peak so it’s extra spectacular.
