Not even 1 minute in, and I'm already inspired! A cardboard wrap for the tree trunk?! WHY did I never think of something like that?! Genius!!!!! And now, 30 seconds later, the lights up and down?! Yep, genius, AGAIN!!!!
That cardboard wrap was so easy to make and because it's at the bottom of the tree it looks so much better, but you can't tell it's only cardboard. =) I hope you are doing well.
I love the Apron you and your Mom made. I think you should leave the ornaments the way that the kids put them up as because they will always remember that you redid the tree when they get older. My Mom always changed the ornaments when we were gone and when I got older I did not enjoy or would not help because they were just going to get changed anyway. When my daughter was young I never changed the ornaments on the tree and loved the way it looked because she did it.

Haha I have always wondered why the "fake tree makers" always left that ugly pole visible. Because of that now people make or buy those baskets to go around the bottom of their trees. I hope you are having a good day =)
I only keep 2 bins for Christmas and a third for the other holidays, it feels like plenty to me and I’m pretty sure I have some that can go, something I keep space for is having colored and white lights for my tree because I’ll alternate years. Most of the time I’ll opt for soft white but some years i want that color 🌈✨ Btw I’ve been really enjoying your videos so much lately and I look forward to them ☺️ you and your family are so sweet and down to earth 🌻 hope you have a great holiday season 🎄

Love your Christmas decorations! From another video, I learned to put on rubber kitchen gloves to use when putting up articulate tree and arranging branches. Made an icky job so much better. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Dec!
Hi Shannon. What an absolutely wonderful idea of putting the lights on the tree in an upwards and downwards pattern. Something I would never have thought off. It’s the one thing I loathe doing as I have to reach around the back of the tree and the position I have the tree in my house is hard to manoeuvre. Not so daunting now I feel. Shannon, Great video. What made you decide to be a vegetarian? Do your boys ask to eat meat if they're at someone else's house? I'm a vegetarian also, but my Hubby is not. He eats the way I do at home, but if we're out then he will eat meat. Just curious.
We started eating this way about 5 years ago. I guess the reason we started at first was trying to be more eco friendly and to be healthier. Now the thought of eating a once living thing seriously grosses me out LOL. My one son will eat meat once in a while, he can do whatever he wants. I don't push this way of eating on anyone, but we don't make meat at home. =)
@@shannontorrens1 I totally am the same way about eating somewhat used to be alive. I don't try to make people eat the way I do, but I have been known to try & gross them out about eating animals that used to be up & walking around or swimming. 🤣
@@shannontorrens1 I think that your mindset is very respectful in regard to having everyone make their own decisions. I am now vegetarian. I first made the switch close to the end of the year last year and the first thing that I made was your vegetarian enchiladas. I loved them so much, but our grown kids and husband thought they were only good if they had meat LOL Now, it is one year later and I have never felt better! All of my life, I had just thought that I was a picky meat eater. I would not eat meat on the bone for sure as it grossed me out and then if there was any gristle or fat well, let's not go there haha so anyway, I always got a stomach ache after eating say a grilled burger or something like that. I no longer have any stomach aches because vegetables are so much easier on my stomach. Now, the thought of eating a live animal seems strange to me but I am definitely alone in that thought here. The only thing I will have occasionally is salmon. But if I did not have that I would still be fine. My husband loves his meat but he also loves vegetarian chickpea salad. After finding the recipe we have it once a week now just about. It's good that we can all eat what we want and are blessed to have that choice!

The curtains could be fixed by adding clip on rings instead of using the tabs. Makes them slide much easier.

I found this 3 years ago at Walmart, I don't remember what type it was but it doesn't have the built in lights and its 7ft high.

My mom actually made that. I think she just used brown and black paint and made a wood type pattern.

That chickpea salad is super easy to make and tastes great in a sandwich. I also like to put chickpeas in my regular salads too. =)
