It’s so easy. For the last several months I’ve been using this mount with the ASIair Mini. Proper polar alignment and I’m getting .5 arcsecond guiding accuracy. Brilliant go-to mount! I’ve considered the AM3 but as this one is doing so well I disregarded my thoughts on that. And BTW, I upgraded the tripod and have the altitude adjuster and put 12lbs of counterweights (high up) on it along with a C6-SCT and do planetary work with near perfect guiding.
This is a great video, thanks for posting! I would add one very important thing to everyone wanting to do this type of connection. This mount is set up by default to only connect via wifi and will not work with a serial/usb connection unless you switch the connection type over to this. To accomplish this you need to either follow a very confusing process in the manual or download the PMC-Eight Configuration Manager which will help you easily switch from wifi to wired connection. Only then can you connect the mount to your computer or the ASI Air with a wired connection.
thanks for the comments appreciated - With the latest firmware to the mount, it will recognise either a WiFi or serial cable connection without having to switch this manually but not at the same time of course :) this means you won't have to worry about this.
Hello Great info on this mount with the ASIair Plus l, I have run into an issue with tracking if I go from perfect 10sec exposer to 30sec exposures I see star trails after perfect alignement, what do I do to correct this?. Thank you very much Robert
Hello! I purchased the cable but the app on the asi air still says “connection failed, please make sure the mount is connected with the serial cable and the baud are correct” any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Hello Amogh, if you get the cable that is mentioned in the video that will help you control the mount with ASCOM. Along with other planetarium software and guiding and other sorts of stuff.
i did buy an iexos-100 few weeks ago. and been trying to connect to wifi, i did download app and data files but the only thing i gey on app is "please wait: that is on my windows 10 laptop. also try on another laptop and same thing. i did connect with ascom and chartes di ceil app with usb drive and works but not wireless. need help, any one might know how to fix that?
I'm having a similar issue. I purchased the iEXOS- 100 PMC-Eight mount and downloaded Ascom to my laptop. I then downloaded explorestars app, but couldn't get anything to work. I then went out and purchased a Samsung Galaxy A9+ tablet and downloaded the explorestars app and still nothing. The mount isn't responding to the app commands and the mount is making noise.
I wish mines was that easy, I did exactly what was said in this video and also checked all the baud rates and I still get the message mount not connected 😢😢.

How was your polar alignment? Also, how is your balance on the head mount?
@@TeamAstroworkz next to perfect per the ASIair, and b allance was to the center but always use a regular level.
First of all thanks for this vid. The cable that you show on Amazon completely out any alternative?
actually the cable is just a mini USB B to A - you can find these at computer stores like best buy etc
Thanks.Does the mount work with AsiAir without problems? Thanks a lot!
Yes it does! works well :)
Nice work Tyler. Thank you for that.
Glad you enjoyed it!

What Cable did you purchase, and what Baud rate are you setting it to?
I bought a USB 2.0 to USB mini Cable and the baud is at 9600
need to be set to 115200 and do ensure that the cable is a data cable as some are charge only but try 115200 first :)
@@TeamAstroworkz worked! Thank you for saving me the headache now I have to learn the asi app haha
Great nice job!
