    I have had my 2020 80RB for 17 months and have spent 53 days in it and it's been a great camper. I have spent as many as 9 days at one time at "The King Of Hammers" in Johnson Valley CA. where it was 20 degrees with 40 mph winds and it was no problem, only the back door was radiating some cold. The black tank was only used for eighteen #2's in that 9 days and was just about full. PJ missed that the drawers are soft close which means they pull themselves close and they stay closed on rough roads, the top cabinet door will open on rough roads so I just use a cutting board stood up inside and it holds everything inside. My camper is equipped with all the options seen with the camper in this video and with those options, the 80RB camper weight is just a little over 2000 pounds

      I built a drawer that is removable that fits in the space behind the sink. I also cut two openings in the platform under the table top pipe and fashioned the removed pieces to be removable covers. A lot of wasted empty space recovered. I built a removable hitch mounted platform to hold a generator and 6 gallon Tote.for waste water transport since the WW tanks are very small.

    I didn't know about this so this was a great walkthrough. My former dream TC was the HS750/1801 but now it's probably a tie with this, however there are a few pieces of information you didn't mention that I have questions about.
    -Do you need a lighter for the stove or can it be lit automatically using the batteries?
    -You mentioned the water heater uses a tank instead of being instant. Some tanked water heaters on RV's can use 110 volt in order to heat water instead of propane. Is that an option on this or is it propane-only?
    -Is there an option for a passthrough window to the Truck?
    -Are there options for dually brackets? I know they aren't too useful on something this size but I want to ensure as much compatibility as possible.
    -Are there cable/satellite connections?

    Nobody mentions the feature that made me buy this camper over Lance and Palomino. It doesn’t have a full back on it. I don’t have to remove my tailgate. This feature makes loading and unloading way easier, and when I drop the camper at an RV park and go exploring, I have a complete truck.

    I have had many slide in campers over the past 25 years. This unit looks nice but seems a bit pricey for what you get. Yes its much cheaper than a Lance or Bigfoot , etc. but I have found the best bang for my buck was the Palomino Maverick by Forest River.

      You can modify your camper to fit your needs like I did
      Remove the toilet for a portable toilet one with double base and transform your back tank for a gray one.

    • @simonwright9916
      @simonwright9916 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@d12aurora true, but it is just dumb for a manufacturer to include tanks that are virtually useless just to ‘massage’ the weight of the unit down. And nobody wants to buy something that needs modifying so soon.

      @@williammoore4226 i removed the RV toilet, cut the toilet flange flush with the floor, I installed a 6 inch access inspection, sometimes installed on boats and kayaks, select a portable toilet of your choice with an extra base that is the 5 gallon size, I went with the compost toilet, 5 gallon bucket type, search TH-camfor more info, now the plumbing from the sink goes into the black tank and the shower goes in the gray,
      The 4 inch dump has a cap with a garden hose adapter with a drip hose attached to it running under the truck so I done offend tree huggers when I drip my gray water

It can get you to destinations all over for years and you can see if the lifestyle is for you. If you're all in for truck camping and that style of camping, the nuCamp is an incredible build and style.
