I was a teenager in 1983 but I still have some wonderful memories of the 70's. Don't get me wrong I remembered these as well. I still would check out the cartoons! I still would now in my 50's but Saturdays are much different now.
I was 7 in 78 and every Saturday morning was at Grandma's house and now she's gone , simply watching this brings tears to my eyes. Too bad there wasn't more of these . But am thankful there's this one
@@nickhill8612The snell of freshly baked🍞🍞bread🍞🍞 in the oven! Then spending the next few hours watching cartoons! It was a wonderful and special time!

This is cool reminds me of staying the night at grandma and grandpas house on Friday night to wake up to this stuff Saturday morning 1978 to 1983 . Awesome
Admit it, we all watch the open sequence, the cartoons itself, the commercials, the closing credits and even those logos (via Ruby Spears or Hanna Barbera, love that swirling star, had it for The Smurfs too) still sharing those memories in 2020😛❤️
I graduated in 84....We graduated at a time to enjoy a terrific decade. We had it all. Malls, Arcade, Good movies and just a good life. Not like today.
I give props to CBS for giving us The Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner show (before the switch to ABC) and NBC had The Smurfs, love them both and yes, I'm still watching in 2020❤️😀
So many memories, especially since I grew up in the area at this time. We used to go to the Chuck E Cheese near the Ft. Belvoir area (at least we took the exit just off the Wilson Bridge).
Thank you for posting ❤️ You reminded me just how awesome my childhood was! In spite of some setbacks, my life was & is awesome! Sometime, you gotta be reminded. #enjoythelittlethings
During this time frame on ABC,I remember a between programs show that had a man and a woman singing songs like "The grass is always greener on the other side". I'm trying for the life of me to find them.
Brings me back to sitting on the floor about two feet in front of my grandparents giant wooden tv/stereo console (I would’ve been 7 when this aired) eating a little box of Apple Jacks or Froot Loops from a variety pack.
Good ol ABC 7 in DC. . cartoons in the morning wrestling Godzilla and Soul Train in the afternoons. Then it was time to go outside and pretend I was Art Monk catching touchdowns from Joe Theisman. Where has the time gone
I was 10yrs old & in 4th grade the 82-83 school year. Not only that, I'm originally from Silver Spring MD where WJLA CHANNEL 7 also served at that time. I remember Renee Poussaint of News 7 then. SuperFriends, Pac-Man, Schoolhouse Rock, Strawberry Shortcake, Chuck E Cheese, Tidal Wave, Ronald McDonald, I recall it all. Halfsies, I'm sure I had that cereal at least once. I forgot it existed until this clip. If any similar clips from WDVM IN DC Channel 9 CBS & WRC Channel 4 DC are still about, do share such here since I watched all 3 networks for Saturday Morning there too. I remember The Battle of the Gods Episode on SuperFriends many times, even managed to record it on audio cassette once when it was syndicated to weekdays on WDCA CH 20 in DC in '85. They were tested by Zeus...need I go on😏? To realllllllllllly enjoy this clip, you can't go wrong on Flatscreen HDTV & the bigger...& LOUDER the fucking better. WARNING: Watching this clip can cause feelings of nostalgia, tears of Elation & wanting to relive your childhood at that time. Oh yeah...your kids will love this better than what's on today.
I went to that back then & it was a sight to behold in The Maryland Metropolitan. What exists here in Durham NC where I currently reside is no match for '83🙄. You had to be there.
Parents took me there, when I was a baby, in California. Then we moved here to Northeast Texas, & there were no Chuck E. Cheese's anywhere in sight, sadly.
I use to watch Super Friends religiously after school. Loved being a kid in the 80s. We had it all.
I wish I can go back, such joy and fun growing up in 80ds, I was 10 years old...

thanks for these commercials, they bring me so much joy!❤
No disrespect to NBC and CBS but ABC had the best lineup of 80's(beginning and mid)for that time, who's still sharing the memories in 2020❤️😀😍
I always liked ABC Saturday morning cartoons better then CBS, and NBC..
I agree totally my friend
Hands down!!! CBS came in second only because they ran the Looney Tunes. NBC was the worst.
I disagree . I liked all 3 network cartoon line up
yes indeed
Oh ya bro, this stuff is gold,i totally remember this growing up in the 80s .cool memories

You struck the bullseye with these clips. I remember many of these cartoons. I was watching these in the 1982-1983 school year. What a blast!!
I was 10yrs old & in 4th grade that school year. Not only that, I watched from that very channel as shown here.
WJLA Channel 7 in DC.
Love it. Graduated in 82. Thanks for the memories

ABC's We'll Return After These Messages clips/music were the absolute best.
Goonies1632 yes brings me right back to 80’s
IKR.
They really knew how to appeal to us kids at the time...& it worked😍.
I’m too young to remember these bumpers but I like it. Has a nice sound.
First ones I remember are the beloved claymation bumpers 😊😊
Even though I wasn't alive at this time, those" we'll return after these messages" clips, make me feel incredibly nostalgic.n
It gives you that certain feeling of how life was back then. Makes you feel young on the inside.
Thanks so much for this. I'm crying as we speak because it took me back to a kid at 5 years old. God bless you.
I miss those days too.
The wonders old videos can do. TH-cam is indeed a time machine.
I can't believe I took the time to figure this out, but this really aired on February 19, 1983.
Saturday February 13th, 1983 to be exact
40th anniversary, wish we could all go back
Wow back when I was a teen in the area. Fun times.i used to watch this channel a lot. And Ch 20.
Me too. I'm originally from Silver Spring MD.
The Grammar Rock 'darn that's the end' line is the voice of Sally from the Peanuts.
I miss animation such as this. Better than the CGI animation of today.
Yes, & a million times better than those damn Pixar/Illumination/random cgi animation companies movies!!
Yes I agree
I was in 1st grade in 1983-83, and watched all this stuff, but it never struck me at the time how much goddamn cereal they were pushing.

Most definitely, went to the one in Matteson Illinois quite a few times in the 80s

Mostly in the 1980s, the ABC Saturday morning staff announcer was Ed Jordan.
I was 8 or 9 months from being born, at this time. Born on 11/14/83.
This is very therapeutic.
What will the kids of today be able to look up for nostalgia in the year 2050?
LB Helms Cartoon Network, Tom n jerry etc
Hopefully this clip🙄.
Let's try not to think of that...
Face masks
Guns , gangs and vaps. There will be nothing worth looking up.
I wish I could go back and record everything and keep everything then archive it all.
Sadly allot of these shows will be lost to time.
that's the battle of the gods episode
I saw that episode many times, even managed to record it on audio cassette once. The SuperFriends were hallenged by Zeus himself...& won.
