I think Ritu underestimate Stamp. I mean Stamp transition is so smooth. Defending a ground take down then climbing and threatening guillotine choke.
No ritu only use power, ground skill not so good..she always esay get trapped. May be couse wresling background

The fact of the matter is....Stamp has not only shown strength but an awesome ground game!
The presence of mind, ability to adapt and change, won the game for Stamp.
I saw two of them talking of something opposite to actually what they end up doing. Ritu claimed that Stamp was afraid of her but it actually was she who was afraid (She wasn't playing her natural game of defensive attack). Meanwhile, Stamp claimed to win the match with her Muay Thai but it in reality, was her rarely displayed grappling skill which bagged her the victory.

@@Tylar122 She doesn't normally attack like the way she was doing in this particular bout. ..she usually waits her opponents to lay off their guards.
@@chhachaparankasudumi9034 really? I watched one of her other fights and she fought the exact same immediately shot and got in a clinch and worked for a takedown.
@@Tylar122 I felt so. She appeared so eager to go for Stamp's legs every time. I've seen her fight with others, she wasn't so aggressive against any of them.

I started watching women MMA bcoz of Gina Carano.
Stamp learns ground game really quick. It's really hard to do a difference fighting style for attacking opponent in the real fight.
Many muay thai fighters know ground fighting only for defending not for striking. But Stamp can use it.
Respect and hopfully she'll improve her skills more and more.
I think that what we as spectators can take away from this is that you cannot win an MMA championship by being a one trick pony. Stamp was mostly known as a striker and had a weak ground game. Phogat had a very weak striking game, but was a monster on the ground. That on its own is advantage Phogat, as the fight at some point will end up on the ground. But Stamp learned, and has improved her grappling game. Hence, Stamp won.
Totally agree. She got a painful but valuable lesson, from her first fight with Alyona. Without ground game knowledge, you can't expect wins against top grapplers. She worked her ground game a lot, as her second fight against Alyona, clearly proves it, and continued improving. Thus, this outcome.

Ritu is a Just Boring 1 Dimensional Wrestling ONLY fighter

@@JohnCenaIsMyDad I never claimed, she wasn't trained for ground game. What I'm saying is that she wasn't good enough, as the first fight with Alyona showed, where btw, don't agree with you. In that fight she got lucky, Alyona, didn't finish her earlier.
Defeating a monster in her own game is such a satisfying moment! Now the monster must learn Mauy Thai and defeat the dragon in her game next time. So best advice for the monster, change your coach!

Did you see how she lifted Stamp up for almost a minute? What use was that? Such tactics could win you Desi Kushti matches, not MMA.
MMA is a much much faster sport than wrestling which Phogat was a champion of.
Since she loves wrestling but NEED submission skills should learn CATCH wrestling the ancestor of freestyle wrestling. It have submissions as part of it curriculum.

Its not a secret. All grapplers are trained in striking, otherwise they get KO on first second.

Ritu should have been trained in mixed martial arts rather than just wrestling. In such sports you can survive only with multiple skills. Her boxing and kick boxing skills are poor.

At 4:52 the moment right before the ref stops the fight - Stamp could have thrusted her hips forward and snapped her opponents arm. Very good sportsmanship and awareness to not break her opponents arm at the moment. Great fighter!

No disrespect to Ritu intended (anyone familiar with the Indian martial arts scene knows that any female fighter named Phogat is to be taken seriously). She is obviously a great fighter who just needs a coach who will understand how to train her for _M_ MA where the _M_
stands for _MIXED_ Martial Arts. It is clear that Stamp has been trained to be a complete fighter, plus she has the genetic advantage of being incredibly strong and fast for her size. If Ritu makes the necessary adjustments, we can expect to see these two fighters face each other again.

Wow, that was impressive. The problem was Ritu was concerned about avoiding strikes and getting the takedown, had no thought to defending against submissions till it was too late.
Ritu's ground attack is one of the finest thing she has, due to low reach she can react quickly but for the first time I saw her offencing more then defencing, her takedowns are also not at point....she really underestimated her for sure...( Just my opinion )
