The lagging could be because of your computer, not the internet. It may not be powerful enough to render the video when things are going crazy in game.

The ability doesn't make it invincible, only reduces the damage taken by 80%, so his health was low enough where the arrow did enough damage to kill it despite doing 80% less damage
