Huge Dallas fan and i've only just discoverd this song. I love it when this happens :) It's like finding a random tenner in your pocket (which also happened to me today- but with dallas it would be wayy more than a tenner) Aah I love this :)
Stay the night, and I promise I won’t die Without you there and I can’t and I can’t close my eyes But I can’t leave myself tonight And I was still lost inside And now waiting for everything To fall into place Waiting for everything To fall Most nights I cry myself awake And she waits, my love, my love falls away Well I sit alone, again today Wonder why everything went this way And now waiting for everything To fall into place Waiting for everything To fall into place Waiting for everything To fall And I cry myself awake And I cry myself awake
this is an amazing song . I feel very strong feelings with your music I wish to meet you some day this holladay it helped listening to a lot of your albums
Haha, it's been so long since I made this video! Liking how many views and how much love it's been gettin' since :). Don't remember people, you can download all Helicon Blue and C&C old songs in the torrent I uploaded on h33t, just check the description on Helicon Blue songs. Peace and love to all the Dallas Green lovers out there.
yeah that is where constant knot stemmed from, he dug up his old songs, and didnt want the same old style he used to have, and adapted he new style, he has an old version of sleeping sickness from "the simple songs" album and he has this very emotional, belting style. good shit.
@jamesxD94 Easiest way to get it on itunes is to type TH-cam to Mp3 on G00G13 and use it to save the file into your itunes. That's what I do for the Indie bands i like.
@JamsOpinion Well apparently this song was sort of rewritten or worked into Constant Knot. So it's not even really AROUND anymore. And trust me, Ik this is a hard song, but if he can play As much as I ever Could live, I'm pretty sure he's got this. Haha.
i love this song. it sounds more like it should be an alexisonfire song, which some people may not like. either way, it was written by dallas green, and therefore it is amazing and should have been released.
I'm sorry, disregard what I said. It was a part of his "Simple Songs" E.P. I've never seen a hard copy of it but they do exist. This was distributed primarily on the internet by people though.
Dallas Green is City and Colour. Name taken from his name lol Dallas = City. Green = Colour. Alexis aren't his old band, he's still in them, and as far as I know they're recording an ablum at the mo, or they will be sometime in the near future.
the first lyrics remind me of "Constant knot" when he sings "So stay tonight and i promise that i wont bite cause without you there i dont think that i can close my eyes"
Yeah, he says that he writes stuff over the course of years even, then refines it into songs. This is unreleased because he probably decided to take this song apart and put some of it into Constant Knot, for example. This was probably one of his 'rough drafts,' so to speak.
@pimpguitar1 Thanks, I'm actually in it (I'm the Envy, the guy who does the terrorist scream, says i love buttsecks, and does that weird scream) it was filmed by my friend Ryan. If you want you could hit me up on steam.
It's one of his earlier unreleased songs. He used to write the majority of his material in drop D. It's good, but doesn't have the same dynamic as his new material
@KayySunshine check out John Butler, he's pretty great too. ..different style, but he can shred an 11 string like nobody's business. ..not saying he's better by any means though, i love Dallas!
@someoneisme1121 that is sooo weird i was thinking that john and dallas collaborating would be absolutely insane john is my favourite and dallas is my up and coming 2nd favourite :) great minds think alike :P
I don't think it was a part of any specific release, though some say it was a part of "The Death of Me", while others say it was just an internet distribution.
@xXxMycheM4lifexXx it isnt on a album. he never officially released this song lol he only put "constant know" which is a different version of this on the album
@Uhhlaneuh Hey man, no need to shutter. Be proud of who YOU are! Forget about your country, religion, sexuality, whatever. Your average, stereotypical American is only that way because of preconceived notions that are bred within society, taught to our children in schools and spewed all over the mainstream media. Break free from that stuff and find your own truths! I'm Canadian, and I know I am damn lucky but even still... the world is screwed up right now. All you can do is change yourself.
september 29. 1980 was the second coming of jesus. the parents knew and wanted to keep it a secret. so they named him dallas green. however, they couldnt stop him from creating rediclously delightful music. so now here we are today, he just has to keep his beard a little bit shorter
I don’t even know how many years I’ve been listening to this. Always come back to it. Dallas is so absolutely incredible
we need more music like his today. raw simplicity and its good!!
ahhhh memories. Shame this is so hard to get hold of. Such a beautiful song and such great memories of this being released.
Wow, I haven't heard this song in forever.
The main verse riff is one of the first guitar things I learned.
Dallas is an amazing human being. His voice is amazing, also ❤
this is the man that inspired me to become a musician/artist thanks Dallas for the inspirational music
ahhh seeing this randomly pop up reminded me how much i LOVE this song
Huge Dallas fan and i've only just discoverd this song.
I love it when this happens :) It's like finding a random tenner in your pocket (which also happened to me today- but with dallas it would be wayy more than a tenner)
Aah I love this :)
Still after all these years, this song is just amazing
ya.. thx for putting this up. This is a great song.
I can't believe that I have found this man's music and lyrics....where have I been for 12 years....
Never too late, Kathy :)
i love how he turned this into constant knot
i enjoy both versions equally
Stay the night, and I promise I won’t die
Without you there and I can’t and I can’t close my eyes
But I can’t leave myself tonight
And I was still lost inside
And now waiting for everything
To fall into place
Waiting for everything
To fall
Most nights I cry myself awake
And she waits, my love, my love falls away
Well I sit alone, again today
Wonder why everything went this way
And now waiting for everything
To fall into place
Waiting for everything
To fall into place
Waiting for everything
To fall
And I cry myself awake
And I cry myself awake
this is incredible. Dallas Green, you never cease to shake me up.
this is an amazing song . I feel very strong feelings with your music I wish to meet you some day this holladay it helped listening to a lot of your albums

@musicman509 Every song of his I have heard certainly deserves to be heard, but I wonder if the world really deserves to hear them!

I don't get why Dallas doesn't produce every song he sings! The world deserves to hear them :)

Haha.
i love this song. it sounds more like it should be an alexisonfire song, which some people may not like.
either way, it was written by dallas green, and therefore it is amazing and should have been released.
i really really like this and all his solo stuff i just wish he had this and wish helicon blue never split!
I'm sorry, disregard what I said. It was a part of his "Simple Songs" E.P. I've never seen a hard copy of it but they do exist. This was distributed primarily on the internet by people though.
Dallas Green is City and Colour.
Name taken from his name lol
Dallas = City. Green = Colour.
Alexis aren't his old band, he's still in them, and as far as I know they're recording an ablum at the mo, or they will be sometime in the near future.
wonderful
powerful
great
He makes me proud to be human.
the first lyrics remind me of "Constant knot" when he sings "So stay tonight and i promise that i wont bite cause without you there i dont think that i can close my eyes"
The opening line is from the chorus of Constant Knot. This came first, so i guess Dallas liked the line
Yeah, he says that he writes stuff over the course of years even, then refines it into songs. This is unreleased because he probably decided to take this song apart and put some of it into Constant Knot, for example. This was probably one of his 'rough drafts,' so to speak.
@TheMasonFTW "Simple Songs" , the first thing that city and colour ever recorded!
now THIS is talent
@pimpguitar1 Thanks, I'm actually in it (I'm the Envy, the guy who does the terrorist scream, says i love buttsecks, and does that weird scream) it was filmed by my friend Ryan. If you want you could hit me up on steam.
veryy cool :X
It's one of his earlier unreleased songs.
He used to write the majority of his material in drop D. It's good, but doesn't have the same dynamic as his new material
respect..
I'm very glad you like it. I will put more.
iTunes and youtube. if you type in on here love don't live here anymore it'll bring you to that and a bunch of older stuff.
@hghooaweeee Right i mean who are the Beatles? Oh and you can find city and colour playing in your local starbucks radio
I love how his flavor is so original, it's like experiencing a hamburger for the first time if your from France
-This song makes you understand where real music originated from,
@KayySunshine check out John Butler, he's pretty great too. ..different style, but he can shred an 11 string like nobody's business. ..not saying he's better by any means though, i love Dallas!
Nice one
Am I the only one still listening to this!???

Somehow reminds me of the intro to Crazy on You by Heart… ever so slightly.
@grimprdabomb The four people that got the injury got it from trying to click the like button while the stride gum team was after them.
Np ;D
An early version or alternative version of waiting i take it, much prefer the original but always good to hear more C+C
Not waiting... It's the same lyrics as constant knot
is this on any EPs i dont know about? i need it on my itunes..
lmfao... i like this version more than "constant knot", though.
@Uhhlaneuh Hey man, no need to shutter. Be proud of who YOU are! Forget about your country, religion, sexuality, whatever. Dallas' problem was, which he specifically said in an interview, he was tired of being generalized and being expected to play the same style.
@ColourofHearts Sounds like Drop D to me.
This is really early stuff
Sounds like his vocals in watch out
its sexxy
