Carry On camping featuring the Vango Callao 600xl and the Jackery 1000 UK & 240 UK

- A one hour special as we head off to North Wales for a camping trip with our new tent, a Vango Callao 600XL. We also test the Jackery 1000 UK and 240 UK to see if we can keep it going for 5 days in the inclement Welsh weather. All the usual madness is here so come along for the laugh and don't forget to give us a like and a share to help the channel!!!!

So nice to see someone enjoying my neck of the woods - only a 10 minute drive from us.
Ponderosa and Horshoe pass are lovely but yes a stressful drive if you dont like heights - just never attempt it in the snow lol 😆
We did that with the front of our tent as it was raining but was warm x it worked really well and I was able to cook in the area. Love the videos

I would never tell you to F.O. Becky you are quite entitled to comment however you want and I do take it onboard and appreciate you taking the time to comment. However, as I often say, this channel is kind of like a diary for us so every now and then I am going to say stuff that maybe others don't like or agree with. If you look through the comments of the said video you will see many like me "keeping it real". Of course it also helps me when I talk to the camera, it's a perverse kind of therapy I guess but I also acknowledge that some will see that as madness or perhaps inappropriate. Moving the vlogs from Hannah the Narrowboat to here at The Vlog Couple was also partly done for this reason, so that I can say what I want without specifically irritating people who just followed for the boat life. Hope you understand. Of course it's rare that I have those low moments anyway (although I do like a good rant every now and then) so rest assured the usual madness will not be going anywhere! PS been ages since I got my proper camera out so I'll have to do some more of that soon!

Camping is funny , you’ll morph and change and buy new stuff , it’s just the way it is . We’ve been through 3 types of beds in as many months trial and error . Great to get the jackory review and solar charging feedback . I’ll text ya soon , we found a great kitchen thingy which I know you’ll appreciate .
Happy enough with our main table and storage underneath but would like just a plain half the size for cooking outdoors and doubling up as a coffee (you know I really mean beer) table when we are sitting inside for the night. We got a collapsable washing-up bowl which is quite cool. Next things on shopping list are roof bars as although the roof bag stayed firmly put I would still prefer a bar in front and behind it for peace of mind and we would like a good windbreak - not one of those cheap hammer in pole types, a proper one with guylines etc that fold up into a little bag.
Camping in style,right way to enjoy camping. Fun fun
Certainly more fun to be able to actually stand in a tent at our age!
Look into getting some vacuum bags for bedding. Keep bedding dry and clean and when air sucked out then takes up less room.

Was certainly more like glamping than camping I must admit but hey, we are getting too old to be crawling into little tents ha ha. Can't wait to go do it all again!
With your foil roll a bit of the foil up then rub across the damaged end it will return back to normal

Nice video! The only advise I give is at 23:24 the cable was rolled around, that gives a drain as well. Completely roll out the cable, like in a circle and it will work as it should.

Hector absolutely loved it and he behaved so well off the lead on the campsite to my surprise as there were sheep in the field right next to us and he just ignored them.

Thanks Ian, you'll deffo be comfortable in a big tent! Was easier to put up than we expected and there was very little swearing (well apart from when I threw the mallet to Lee and it hit her on the foot 😳)
Ur very funny thank u for advice j got bank from Halfords as it’s hot car pump and Jumpstart. Also I use pop up loo My advice woul be you buy 4 season zip all around sleeping bag. They have cut the grass on that field and letting it dry out

Awesome clamping vlog, we use a folding bucket for a bin, packs away nice n small. I’ll save telling you about our invention of a pissomatic for another time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great set up you had there. I am trying to learn Welsh but its not going well x
There was another lawned area near the farmhouse that more people were on (with electric hookup) but we did have the big field almost to ourselves for a couple of the days, it was awesome! I would think Welsh is one of the harder languages to learn!
Looks to me like an area of forest has been harvested in that field on the hill. Could be wrong, it might be a lake on a slope for water skiing.
We did wonder if it was forestry but we could not see any stumps but who knows! I think the lake on a slope was probably it!
Can you just set up in any field or do you get permission from the landowner?

Can you plug the jackery thingy into the solar panels and run your stuff off it at the same time? So set it up when you get there and forget about it?
We can't just set up anywhere. There are designated camping sites dotted all around the country. I guess you could camp in a farmers field with permission but the only area I know of in England where you can wild camp legally is on Dartmore or Exmore can't remember which in Devon (South West England). People do stealth camping though where they just try not to get caught and others just camp where they like as our Police are far too busy arresting people for hurty tweets than to go after them ha ha. There is a TH-camr called 'offcamping' who camps on roundabouts and other weird places!
Were did you get the roof bag from and what size is it, I was thinking of getting one for when we go camping but not sure which one to buy. Great vlog by the way.
