- The Cass Lake House is located on the largest inland lake in all of Southeastern Michigan, yet in its place on a peninsula it dominates the landscape with more than 1,000 feet of lake frontage. With no detail overlooked, and no expense spared, this house is reminiscent of a classic, waterfront villa.
“The house was designed to hold large groups of people for entertaining, but it remains inherently warm and inviting through the use of natural elements like warm stone and book-matched wood throughout.”
- Lou DesRosiers, Principal Architect
Special features are nearly too numerous to mention. From the moment you enter the property through the custom limestone and iron front gate to the circular drive and the grand entrance with a glass bridge over the koi pond, you realize this is a magical residence. The Spanish tile roof, extensive glass, and Mankato stone exterior enhance the house which has two distinct wings that bend back like a streamlined jet’s wings to maximize lake views.
The elegant foyer features marble floors with inlaid brass strips, majestic columns, skylit canopy and breathtaking views right through all the way to the lake. An award-winning, circular, grand staircase features book-matched mahogany, as do many rooms throughout. Despite its elegance the layout remains practical.
The truly magnificent lakefront living experience continues outdoors. A cabana includes a recessed outdoor kitchen, bar and grill. The negative-edge pool has a built-in spa and the patio stairs include gas-lit torches that captivate the attention of boaters and guests. Lit up at night, the house is sensational, and it’s as elegant as it is livable and practical.
