I love the concept of this video! Some constructive feedback - I found I was getting a bit overloaded, there was quite a bit going on visually, and the sound effects were a bit too loud which made it harder to focus on what you were saying. Also it was all quite rapid, like sometimes I would only catch on to where I’m looking for a brick just as the text/arrow has disappeared, especially for the 3in1 build where I didn’t know where to look. I ended up pausing and backing up quite a bit, maybe spend a little more time on each technique and show them off a bit more? Big fan of techy building though, and your presentation and production is decent, this could do well as a video series!
I hope you guys try out Speed Champions if you haven’t already. If you’re into unconventional techniques packed into a small space, this is exactly the theme for you. I would love to see a mathematical breakdown of techniques in sets like the Countache, 512 M, Supra, Tributo or DB5.
LEGO is all about creativity, but it is rare to see actually creative and high production quality videos about LEGO. I really have to congratulate you guys for bringing something refreshing to the table
Mike Psiaki is the GOAT! If you can, try to get 31023, it is a masterclass of building techniques and before joining LEGO was the one that completely blew me away as at that time, the type of Snot techniques used were kinda revolutionary. Then you should also get 31039, it’s one of his “babies”. Mike loves planes and that model shows that. Amazing video! I’ll share it with Mike. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it
Thanks so much for sharing this Video, Tiago! It was really interesting to see techniques and pieces broken down in this way and also tracked throughout some sets like Creator 3 in 1’s.
i always look up to you when looking for a new set, since you're really good at telling whats good or bad in lego! also its always nice to learn some new techniques for MOCs now and then
Wow, thanks so much for the recommendations - definitely going to try to get these (right now!). Thank you so much again for sharing this with your audience, and for being willing to share with Mike! Hope he doesn't hate it 😆
Well done! This video has the production value of a channel with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. PS - nice job spotlighting the "satisfying" moments of these builds.
I’m blown away by this video. The concept of following a single creator, the depth of study, the math, and the outstanding production quality. So many inventive and intelligent things in this video. Was already impressed by your channel but you two went Super Saiyan for this one. I hope every Lego reviewer watches this and is influenced. Psiaki is a great choice. He’s definitely the most impressive builder they have right now. I love that you found a range of his builds to study including some classics like the Mustang and Apollo, a polybag, and especially the Creator 3 in 1.
When I first got the Saturn V, I wanted it more as a display piece, so I really didn't care how boring the building process was gonna be, but for a repetitive looking build, the internals were what kept it alive, and its easily my favorite LEGO set of all time. great video, its nice to see an approach to a bunch of different sets like this, good stuff!
This design-focused video is a breath of fresh air compared to the other LEGO review videos. I love how you point out the interesting building techniques of each set as that's what I really enjoy most while building LEGO sets. I'm glad to have discovered this channel and I can't wait to see more videos. Keep up the excellent work! Liked and subbed!
Saturn V is by far the best building experience I've had with Lego the last few years. For every new SNOT and sometimes weird placement I went "huh, clever!" or "that's really clever." or "Ahh, I get it now." or "ooh man, that is so smart!". :D
The Speed Champions cars always have interesting buildings techniques in them. I'm not a car person but I love building Speed Champions just to see how they're built.
This was the exact comment I was looking for. Every car using some different type of detail is just perfect. Recently I was building the Koenigsegg Jesko and found one of the coolest hidden details. So Koenigsegg is a Swedish based car company, and during the build process, the interior filler pieces form the shape of the Swedish flag. It works too perfectly to just be a coincidence.
@@jamesblond6947 oh my God they are! I was mostly just tickled by the jesko using a minifigure meat cleaver as an air intake "cutter", which is just clever on so many levels.
Recently, I’ve been building the Eiffel Tower and it’s definitely a tedious building process; however, some of the techniques and parts utilized by the designers are ingenious. It’s mainly held together by some technic pins and clips. The build also inverts at points, so you can take apart the build into sections.
Also loved the “turntable” shot at 8:41 😂😂😂 consider buying an actual turntable, it’s great value for money I feel, but then again I’ll probably miss the hand turntable shots ahah
Oh MY! I have been on about Mike P. from the beginning. To be fair, his talents are hard to overlook. Yes please, more vids just like this!!! Instant fan!!!
Creativity is fun with lego and gives that feeling of accomplishment when a set I'm building suddenly makes sense. Lego is expensive, but it's great to know the set I purchased provides ingenuity and creativity. Knowing these sets will offer more value and entertainment over time makes it worth it. Please make more videos like this.
This was so great! So many Lego videos are focused on news, reviews, or retrospectives on older themes. Those are great, but this really nailed down a huge part of why Lego is fun! I’m not a technical person at all, so I really appreciated this!
The Saturn V is one of the best LEGO sets in my opinion. The really cool building techniques paired with the impressive size of the finished model as well as the very reasonable price given the amount of pieces and size make it a great building experience.
I LOVE this video. Please do more of this content. Neat and small techniques from building a set often get “lost in translation” for lego reviews. But this helps gives those moments some time to shine!
This video made me appreciate the build of the Saturn V even more, and also made me go out and get the Galaxy explorer. That was another amazing build, so many clever techniques
I must say, I'm amazed by the production quality! Your channel really needs more attention. While my awareness to new LEGO sets has diminished over the years, my love of LEGO hasn't, and it's awesome to see how creative these set designers have gotten. That being said, your focus on these sets really highlights the studs-out technique and how it can be applied.
Great work! I really loved your presentation of the techniques and observations you had about the sets. Analyses of LEGO build techniques in your style aren’t easy to come by, so this video was a treat to watch. I totally think you should do a second video on the rest of the techniques you found!
Tiago Catarino shared this to his channel’s community and I’m so glad he did! It was fascinating to see such a variety of techniques and parts in use to create such clean builds. I loved your choice to track the use of unique parts in the 3 in 1 set! I sometimes wonder if parts were used in a main build specifically with the alternate build in mind (either because of color choice or a specific shape). This was a great showcase. Subscribed!
I randomly stumbled upon this video and it is and it is brilliant , i am honestly Blown away by the quality of this video I am really excited to see more !
I enjoyed this video immensely! This design/technique breakdown is not boring in the slightest. In fact, it's the most deeply I've ever been engaged by a LEGO video!
I think the step at 12:26 is one of my favorite moments from a LEGO build ever. Something about the way it clicks together was a magical moment during a long build.
This cured my depression. You are both my new favorite Lego enthusiasts. As a lifelong builder, I wish you the most joy and success with your channel and your LEGO adventures!
Wow, great video! Loved the content, presentation, and editing! I have many of these sets, but my favorite technique of Mike Psiake's--as you highlight in two of these sets--is way he makes large, round structures--he is brilliant!
Gotta admit that I agree with what alota folk are saying down here. It’s really refreshing to see this more analytical side of the Lego community, and focusing a specific builder, and more discussing how it feels to builds the sets rather than the finished thing itself. It is something I don’t really get from other creators too often, keep up the good work
thank you for highlighting the building techniques in some affordable sets! i’ve been enjoying the Stuntz series recently, they aren’t particularly technical in many places but as a long time lego fan it’s refreshing to build a set and then actually play with it :)
Would definitely reccomend LEGO Marvel Spider-Man: Spider-Man and Ghost Rider vs. Carnage 76173 one of the most advanced designs I have seen dumped into a low price point item, really great build!
Watched this earlier today, coming back to comment. I just adore this video so much. I’m so happy to see this fresh take on lego TH-cam, really diving into the engineering and math in standard lego sets, not mocs. I’m even sending this to my friends. 😄😄Please please please keep up this style of video.
Honestly, loved seeing all of the different techniques from this designer! I really like the what you all have going here. Excited for what you all have in store. ☺️
The production quality of this video and the pure love of the hobby completely encapsulates me throughout this video, Definitely a channel I'm going to keep up with from now on!
This is a great video. For “Lego beginners” as you say, you know more about Lego than some people who have had Lego TH-cam channels for years! I look forward to watching more of your content
Loved this video! The level of detail and attention is amazing. I just finished the Jazz Quartet video yesterday and thought it was filled with excellent techniques. The big Marvel Guardian's Ship is also a great build.
I never knew that some of my favourite sets were by Mike Psaiki. I love the Saturn V and Titanic. The mustang has just moved up to the top of my list to get hold of.
As usual with real life boats, right side (starboard) has green marker lights and left side (port) has red. It is a maritime convention which makes it easier to determine where the boat goes at night and plays crusial role in collision avoidance.
When I was a kid Mars Mission was my absolute most favorite theme, closely followed by Bionicle, Star Wars, and Power Miners. I've rarely seen a set within the last decade which made me genuinely excited to build LEGO.
I follow Lego creation for years and I didn't think I could find such a relevant and right video about Lego on TH-cam 🤗 This concept is perfect, cause it speaks exactly about what is fascinating and magic about Lego. Waiting for next ones !
the best building experience of lego i've ever had the pleasure to experience was building the saturn V rocket, and i've built lot's of lego but this set kept blewing my mind, not only for it's sheer size but also by how it kept finding clever construction technique all around, i wish i cpuld built it for the rist time again, looking forward to one day getting my national treasure, the Eiffel tower...
There was a lot of satisfying stuff. Loved the approach to put build experience and function over looks. And there were a few awesome sets I hadn't seen before, like the camper van which must be the best 3 in 1 I've ever seen, the only one actually worth buying three times
Love the video! I especially appreciated the different approaches with each set, and always love geeking out on Lego math. I've gained a whole new appreciation for Lego math since designing recreations of buildings on our campus.
Oh my, what an awesome video!! Such a refreshing approach to the hobby! And very educational too. Sadly I'm not a native speaker so I just can't keep up with the fast pace, I'll have to watch multiple times. I subscribed a few weeks ago and I'm thrilled with the content of your channel. I'm sure it will grow very big very fast, keep up the good work!!
I thought I was the only one XD, I turned captions on and it helped a lot, but sadly it covers a lot of the builds sometimes. Doesn't look like a video made by a channel that small.
This was a real treat. I feel like I'm living through another Renaissance of LEGO content, your editing is phenomenal. Nothing but more but good can come from seeing more of your output. And yeah, Mike is a brilliant designer. I got the The Saturn V as a treat for myself several years ago, and building that with my brother and sister was fun not only by proxy of doing it alongside them. The techniques it utilized were clever and stabilizing, plus all of those smooth slopes and tiles on the exterior made it so nice for my hands, one of the most comfortable builds I've ever done. So that, the Downtown Diner, and most recently the 90th Anniversary Galaxy Explorer are quite possibly my favorite modern LEGO sets of all time, that man is a talent. Hope you're doing well!
The timing on this video is perfect for me because I have had a similar feeling AND I want to make a video about set 60383 because I feel like it is the perfect microcosm of what makes a perfect Lego set. It has surprising detail you wouldn't expect from a cheap City theme set, it was fun to build, it was enjoyable in every way. I felt joy with purchasing, building, and customizing this set like I haven't felt in years.
Wow! Blown away by the quality and polish of your videos, which is beyond on par with most 6/7figure subscribernchannels! Entertaining and informative. Looking forward to seeing an explosion of growth in 2023 as more people find your content!

the best building experience of lego i've ever had the pleasure to experience was building the saturn V rocket, and i've built lot's of lego but this set kept blewing my mind, not only for it's sheer size but also by how it kept finding clever construction technique all around, i wish i cpuld built it for the rist time again, looking forward to one day getting my national treasure, the Eiffel tower...
Oh wow, I loved this! Following creators and techniques.. great idea!
Thank you so much!! And thanks for the feedback on the speed, that's good to know - we hope to keep improving!
I thought I was the only one XD, I turned captions on and it helped a lot, but sadly it covers a lot of the builds sometimes.
Doesn't look like a video made by a channel that small.
31130 "sunken treasure" looks very interesting building technics wise. I watched speed builds, will have it soon.
Amazing video! The concept is interesting, unique, and very well executed. I look forward to part 2!
Thanks so much! Great to know.
This video is just AMAZING, i learned so many new Lego techniques and how much more interesting Lego actually is. This is quality content 👍
How do you only have 2k subscribers?? this is excellent content-- looking forward to seeing more!!
Thanks so much!!
Wow, thanks for sharing! Hope you're doing well too!
Thanks so much!
Yes Yes Yes, please show the other ones as well, really enjoyed the video!
This was a great video a fresh take on the TH-cam Lego format. I’d love to see more videos like this.
