Every time I hear a Be'lakor song I haven't been listening to for a while I'm reminded "oh, this one's damn good too".. I should just listen to every album on repeat.
This song - along with their entire catalog - combines amazing musical composition with epic stories... By Moon and Star tells the story of a young boy of 15 taking on a rite of passage against the wilds of nature and night for something approaching a year (until he turns 16 seasons old)... it tells the journey and the brutality and evil the boy is faced with. Upon finding his way home (by moon and star) his joy soon turns to pain as he sees his home/village has been raided/destroyed and all his family are dead... so he turns back, a man ... to the woods.
The lyrics are about a village boy becoming a man by completing a trial which he has to survive by himself in the woods. As he brutally completes his task, he returns to his village which has been decimated, and now has to really fend for himself.
Would you like some instramental Be'lakor? I mean, I def don't wanna discourage you from acclimating to the vocals because Every Song Is Worthy (so you'd be missing out on SO much!), and I personally really like George's sound, but there are a few, the latest being Sweep Of Days.
