    Almost a year later, I’m back on TH-cam and a mama to our sweet Sutton who’s 10 months old now! Here is footage we filmed from the day my water surprisingly broke at 36 weeks and 2 days. I’ll be posting more routinely again and can’t wait for you guys to see more of our lives now that we’re parents!

    I still don’t understand why hospitals make everyone give birth on their backs when other positions minimize tearing and help the baby get out easier.

    • @lucybarrington4634
      @lucybarrington4634 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Probably because it’s not safe for women who have had epidurals to get in other positions. With an unmedicated birth you are able to hold yourself in other positions.

      I tore so bad with my first in the hospital. I have a new midwife and she said they didn’t have to have me on my back even tho I had an epidural 🤦🏻‍♀️ and I’m just finding this out. I’m almost due for my 2nd baby and feel more confident going in knowing my midwife won’t have me on my back!! I’m hoping and praying this time is a better experience! 🙏🏼💙

      @@lucybarrington4634they do it because it’s easier for them to see baby. It’s literally the WORST position to push in. 🤦🏻‍♀️
      I’ve heard if a woman has an epidural they can turn it down a bit so they can reposition. I’m not 100% sure how true that is though.

      I gave birth in a chair-bed thing in the delivery ward, leaning over the back of it. Which made them mad because they kept trying to do internal checks and assess heartbeat. But I KNEW and was full on willing to brawl over it. 😂 birthed my daughter much the same before that. Only my 1st was on my back and as soon as they did that I went from fast progress to almost a total stall. Bloody nightmare. And if they'd told me I was 8cm at the time I would have absolutely refused them. Don't think I'll ever get over that! 😂

    Congratulations! That was amazing. I had similar experience. My first baby my water broke at 36wks and the day of our baby shower.! I woke up that morning, I was walking to the bathroom and little water came out. I thought I accidentally peed on myself but nope. As I sat on the toilet more water gushed out. I screamed and my husband came running. I was crying telling him my water just broke. I stood up and more water came out. I just jumped in the shower and put comfy pj on and we were off to the hospital. We had nothing planned...no hospital bag, no diaper bag, no nursery...NOTHING! thankfully we had the car seat but it wasn't installed. Anyways, I was in labor for 36hrs and after pushing for 30mins he was out. He is now 4yrs old, healthy, very tall for his age group, happy chatty kid and loves to play soccer. 😊
