You should cover dspgaming aka darksydephil. He makes over 100k/year but blows most of it on doordash & the wwe champions mobile game (bank leaks, discord ids, phone #s all point to him owning a top 40 ranked account in the huge gacha game). Despite this, unlike any other streamer, he literally begs & shames his fans to donate to him, otherwise he " cant afford bills, groceries, games, cat food, etc."
Despite this being a norm for him for YEARSSSSS, this last week he really hit a new low somehow. He went on an unhinged rant about how angry he was that his member numbers were getting low (still 400+) & that he's mad that ppl come to his chat & "expect gifted subs." He then said:
"Guys cmon, its the holiday season. You should be giving, not receiving.. get it? Like i cant believe how ppl are acting! & no, contributions to me havent been low cuz of it being the holidays! Ppl actually spend more on things they enjoy during this time! So if ppl enjoy my streams then idk why contributions have been so low...? 🤷 "
& yes, hes being 10000% serious.. this isn't some kind of Scrooge cosplay.

The sad part about Slicker was that Trainwrecks knew it was a gambling addiction and offered him an out.
Gave him enough money to pay off his debts and wipe his slate clean TWICE, and he still gambled it off.
I sympathize with him and other addicts but he got several outs and good friends that could pull him out, he just never took their hands earnestly.
Also, the situation with Allie was a big thing because, while there are service providers for other stuff in-game and streamers do sometimes get donations from viewers, she explicitly takes, what is essentially a good will offering, from the viewer. The clip cuts off where she took a Mageblood card but she literally gambles it, takes one, instantly puts it up for offer. Its EXTREMELY scummy and there wasn't any hesitation. At the time of the clip, it was worth ~$70 per card if you were to RMT the in-game currency.

Still don't see how the Allie thing was so crazy she got banned and removed in the game. She even offered to give it back + the person said this was justice meaning they didn't care anymore and wanted he'd ruined.
Even if worth irl money, it's not that damn serious. She's the only one on the list I can feel bad for

    • @flameyay5207
      @flameyay5207 ปีที่แล้ว +16

@@Jordaxioshe did it multiple times to several different people. The person essentially refused to take it back at that point because they wanted it blasted all over the internet that this was a regular thing. It's like you're saying that if someone steals $70 from me and I find out they've done this to a shit ton of other people, I should just take the $70 back and keep my mouth shut so as not to harm the poor, innocent thief.

    • @caseyphelps6232

@@Jordaxiormt is like the biggest problem in that game though.people who hardcore play it would want her gone.

    • @neo_child
      @neo_child ปีที่แล้ว

@@Jordaxio To contextualize the entire scenario :
PoE is an ARPG. There are seasonal leagues and some come with new mechanics.
One new mechanic is called Harvest crafting. With this mechanic, you can somewhat deterministically craft mods onto items that you want. Another addition alongside it, was the option to gamble certain currencies.
The option here has the description
"Sacrifice up to half a stack of Divination Cards to receive between 0 and twice that amount of the same Card"
This essentially makes it a coin flip to double your money or straight up delete it.
Now, people have given their items to streamers so they can gamble with it for content, and then pass it back to the owner, because of "Streamer Luck" as the saying goes.
With Allie, not only did she skim a bit off the top, but multiple people have come out saying she went beyond what they asked of her in a bad way.
One person reported that he wanted to double Mageblood cards and asked her to stop once he got a full stack to trade in.
She got the full stack after a couple gambles.
But she did not stop and kept gambling. To no one surprise, she deleted a few but it was still a net positive but not the full stack.
The service trade in PoE is all about trust. Most of the services you get via 3rd party trade sites like Forbidden Trove are all built on trust.
Boss run services, crafting services and enchanting services, all of them usually require the buyer to trust the seller to not steal ANYTHING.

Whats even worse is that Twitch would not partner Sliker for years despite having far exceeded the usual subscriber/viewer limit. It was so bad that it was generally seen as an injustice and major streamers and fans petitioned for years for Twitch to partner him.
Then after all that the scumbag uses his platform to scam his own fans out of money. He literally scams the same streamers and friends that defended him and fought for him to be on that platform.
Dude is absolutely evil and has no shame. Makes me wonder if someone at Twitch knew something about Sliker that the rest of us didn't. Maybe a fan had reported him? Because they never explained for years why they wouldn't platform him. Turns out they never should have partnered him.

One part of the iShowSpeed Paradox stream that gets less play is how it opened.
Before the Paradox scheme stuff, he'd actually opened it with a PS5 "giveaway." Only, there never was a giveaway.
Instead, he smashed all of the PS5s live on stream and gave away nothing.
This was during the point where getting an actual PS5 was harder than finding gold in the Mississippi River.

I remember a VTuber Twitch streamer, named Hazord, scammed his fans for donations as he lied about having both cancer and covid a few years ago. I used to been a fan of his during when VRChat was extremely popular, but sadly I didn't know much what was going on at the time until a few years later and found out the truth. Many people rightfully compare him to another Twitch scammer, named Zilionop, for lying about him being handicapped while begging for donations.

I got a friend that I've known since I was 2,5yo. There have absolutely never been any problems with money with him and it is so nice. We bring groceries for each other from shop when visiting as you might as well when on the way. We can plunder fridges like those were our own and we pay close enough to correct back to each other, counting money too strictly would be needless hassle.
Like last time he came to visit he brought me cheese, sourcream, 2 pack of coca cola and bottle of milk. Then he drank 5 of my beers during the evening and I gave him 5€ for rest of the groceries he brought.
With bigger amounts of money when going abroad where alcohol costs about 3rd of what it costs here, we can hand out 100€ to the other and bring back the alcohol worth that from the trip.

I have ended friendships, because all I would hear from certain people is, "Hey, buddy. I need money."
Two people I knew from high school would butter me up, "Hey, buddy. How you been? How's the family? Remember that time...?" Then comes the request for money and the promise to pay it back. Then they piss off for months, sometimes a year, and come right back with, "You're the only one who can help me! I need $20 for medicine for my child" and some other sob story. Ended those friendships right then and there.
Another was a friend I had in the Army. He was always in need of money. He claimed to be sending money to his sister to cover his mother's funeral. Except I heard back from his sister, who said she hadn't seen a dime. I even paid him a bus ticket from the funeral across the country, took him into my home. How did he repay me? Stole my XBox, beat his wife, got arrested twice for domestic battery, and then begged me for bail money.

For a guy who needs no introduction and people online know about him even if they don't watch him, this was certainly the first time I'd ever heard the name. I've never heard of any of these clowns before. And I spend 8-12 hours a day on TH-cam or Twitch. I always have it on as background noise while I work.

Gambling can decimate families, Slicker is not going to be able to kick this unless he honestly asks for & accepts help.
As for IShowSpeed's crypto scam, if fans knew he was only 17, they shouldn't have trusted him with money. It doesn't let him off the hook, but at 17, he's still a minor.

Addiction is a good excuse, but not very good in this situation. There's no excuse for taking advantage of others and if you are someone who does take advantage of others, you're simply a piece of shit, and no claim of addiction will change that. There's plenty of addicts who don't take advantage of people, addiction is terrible, and those suffering from it deserve help, but it's not to be used as an excuse to harm others in any capacity.
