    I love that paper. I have long been a fan of craft paper, and don't use it as much as I would like. Love your videos and have made several of your projects. Thanks so much for giving us instructions and techniques that work.

    You could use a second composition book and glue it to the first one and make a 12 month planner! I just did it. Love this vid.

    I am doing this same thing, not the design, but turning a comp book into a planner. After I uploaded my first video for it I found yours lol, and then you mention about a recipe book, which I already had in mind along with some other ideas, so I am going to finish watching these and your recipe book, and will be sure to give credit where it is due. i love watching your videos!

    I didn't have much scor-tape when I was working on my last mini album, so I tried Mod Podge as a glue for my paper covers on the chipboard. It worked great no buckling of any kind. I'm still working on finishing the album. I love watching your videos.
    Hugs,

    Maymay, we had talked about different ways to seal the paper for the recipe binder and I began experimenting and I found a video where the lady suggested that you use mod podge as the glue, let it sit for a few seconds (I did it until it had a little "wiggle" room), then place the paper and let it completely dry. Then cover the top with mod podge. So, after all of my experiments, that method has worked great for me. I had no bubbling at all and it was very smooth. Just thought I'd share. :) Thanks and have a great day.

    Maymay, I have made prayer journals and Bible study note books from composition notebooks in the past. A girlfriend of mine covered hers with clear contact paper. It worked really well and kept our book fronts water resistant. These books are now 14 years old and still look like new on the outside.

    Im in Love with all your projects. I think I'm going to do the album just like you did because I'm a copy cat XD and I love all the colors together. The one I could change is the clouser on the accordion book and cut the flower on the paper to make the clouser.

    I love this idea...I am actually thinking about doing this for my daughter who has to use 8 of them daily for school. Maybe making them different and decorative will help her find them faster for her classes. Instead of trying to look at all of the black and white. Thank you so much for sharing. I cannot wait to see the rest of this series.

    I haven't seen your recipe book video yet, but after watching this one - I decided to make a recipe book. So far I'm thrilled with my progress. What I love about your videos are all the little details we may miss when making something for the first time...like using the right size rounding punch and making sure you punch the right corners for front and back. I have a black composition book and used a 50's kitchen paper pack with aqua, pink and a minty green (remember when refrigerators came in colors?) I wasn't sure how to hide the black binding so before I covered the front and back with card stock, I used an aqua colored duct tape to cover the black binding. It is flexible enough to handle the many times this recipe book will be opened! Any other suggestions for covering the binding when you don't want the black to show? Also what white glue do you prefer. I have many bottles of different kinds of glue but still not sure which one to use to keep things glued together without buckling the paper. Thanks
    Grandma Cindy

    • @MaymayMadeIt
      @MaymayMadeIt  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      cynthia webb Thanks for watching! I love the duct tape idea for covering the binding. I have also used canvas and fabric. I have some printed canvas that is sold in 12 x 12 sheets in the paper sections at Michaels and I love how it turned out. Not to mention the extra support. If you are going to cover with paper I suggest a thinner paper, not cardstock. Cardstock just doesn't bend well. My favorite white glue is Art Glitter Glue, I was introduced to it by Jane at veleocityvette08 on TH-cam and I have loved it ever since. goo.gl/JtKjf0 I still wouldn't use wet glue on the covers unless I had to, they just buckle cause wet paper does that. If you can afford to add the full sheets of sticky tape from Punch Place Plus to your stash those are my favorite. They don't buckle at all and they stick like mad! The link for those are here, just go to the adhesive section on the left of the page. goo.gl/FzKPGh Thanks and I hope this helps!

    On sealing the cover: I alter comp books, and use laminating sheets on the covers. You can get them at office depot or maybe hobby lobby. They require no heat to seal, they're just sticky clear sheets.

    I'm looking everywhere on TH-cam for ideas on a diy address book. Do you think you could make one either out of a composition notebook or another notebook or make a book because I love your book tutorials. And if you don't need an address book you could give it away like you did that album you made if your still doing that?

    I want to do something like this to my composition book but the only ones I can find are the ones with the the plastic poly covers so my question is what can I use to get my cardstock to stick to the poly covers? Because glue and tape isn't working well because I want to be able to throw it in my bags on the go and still have everything stick

    Does the trimmer you have give you straight lines?? I had purchased the one at Walmart fiskars rotary just like the one your using but it's not as fancy doesn't have the metal bar and legs.. and the measurements was orange just like the arm color so it blended and you couldn't see but the major issue was it cut horrible lines in all my beautiful scrapbook paper.. so I went to the 9 inch one and it's straight cuts but now the problem is it doesn't fit the 12x12 scrapbook papers.. ughhh. So idk what to choose next.. I've watched so many videos and it's a big decision lol... Anyhow love how the comp turned out.. it's beautiful.. :)
