I feel like the map is a lot less vertical now, especially with pop dog turning into a ramp, the lowering of heaven on B, the removal of heaven on A, and the removal of the train near T side of A. The map still seems fun, though slightly less unique. I don't think I like what they did to CT side of A - the corner feels empty and useless. I thought the hallway in the old version offered a bit more opportunity for post-plant play and I liked the long sight line to hold connector or pop dog with an awp. Haven't had the opportunity to play it yet, but looking forward to it
I don’t think I was ever more excited for a map release, I played 10 maps of train today only, where I usually play like 2-3 maps a day 🤣 I’m really liking it, my main play, on CT is fighting for early control in Pop hall, it grants you so much information, and allowed for super quick rotate into B if needed. Super excited to see this map played by pros.
I actually never liked old train, it’s was full of long AWP angles, rat spots and hard spots to clear like A heaven. This new version of train plays really well. Me and my friend only queued train last night and had so much fun. Didn’t feel too CT sided like old train, maybe slightly T sided. But still really well made with good changes. I just don’t like the ladder being gone in pop dog. The hallway and stairs rotate there now takes too long as a CT and T. But otherwise this is my new favorite map! And needs to be In active duty map pool now! Even with the small bugs like the tanker on B. -vertigo +Train

Train is love, kick out vertigo and put it in the map bundle for competitive. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Backline train or some sort object should be there as it make the map wide open in terms of CT cover.
Cool thing is that for the rain is 60% so you doesn’t have to always play with rain but i don’t like the change on A site where you can’t climb the ladder and B site where ladder is also removed and when you are B site on the bridge and you can’t just stand like it used to be when you play on CT cuz of the mini room on the bridge
I get the feeling that retakes are going to be much more difficult now with how open the bombsites are, especially B. Hopefully all that does is skew the balance to be a bit less CT sided without making it a savefest like Inferno. Can't wait to see this played officially!

If T's open up towards B-halls they HAVE to get up into boiler/popdog to gain any map control and not just waste the first 1/3 of the round. BUT if they don't open on B-Halls, ct's will flank an A-execute faster than my cat when I open the feed drawer. I think a duel on boiler will happen literally every round now.
....I hope they did playtesting on whats left of Popdog. CT's and T's having the same level of access to it + t-rotations now taking much longer changes everything. On instinct that's the only change that I don't love though, the cleaned up shrunk bombsite areas look prestine. I'm kinda sad that they didn't bring back t-heaven on A site though.
Very good update in my opinion. Now I'm crossing my fingers for a cobblestole around christmas (winter edition?) and cache for next spring. Then they can rework some of the old maps that's getting hella boring like d2, inferno, maybe even mirage.
I think outer bombside is to open and to difficult for the ct's to actually find positions. If you smoke of conn, ivy and the new entry at the back there is nowhere for the ct to go apart from bombtrain. Other than that look pretty good
It goes both ways because 2 good smokes at red coach isolate the A bombsite while holding Ivy. And the fact that CTs can now occupy yart uncontested from T conn makes it even harder. We'll see how pros play it.

the ladder clipping has always been terrible on release for most maps, even train itself had issues where you could barely get on top of the trains on release in csgo

But I also though Old train was the best map out of all the Maps. So I didn’t see the new to change the layout. From what I can see, that they removed alot of what made the map stand out. So now its more like Mirrage or Dust2. So more standar, and I dont know if that is a good thing.
I'm a casual watcher, not player.. don't know maps too well. Therefore a bit frustrating you partially blocked radar/map, as made it hard to follow when you moved around. Otherwise, as always, super informative! 👍
Aah that's why the pros are so good with utilities because they cheat in practice mode, learning 10x faster, or have I missed something? I've been in CS since 2001 on and off, maybe I'm just old, but still love this game
why does valve need to make everything so noob freindly, they are literally taking all the good stuff and just destroys them. first follow recoil and perfect jump throws, then a specifik line up crosshair and now they makes maps simpler. just give people aimbot and bhop script at this point
A-site looks too open. Ivy conn & hell is too easy to block with one smoke. Flashing "long dog" requires to team mate go first down making it too vulnerable to ct push and also guy who pops flash is already too late for engaging ct. T-side b-hall too open. B-site catwalk blocked for what? Making everyone to play with mp9s? Objects are too big and already bugged. Shouldn't they test these first before release? Wow moving train and rain... What a total disappointment... These developers are not developers. They're ruiners.
This brings back memories. The new version looks very cool. Can’t wait to see this map being used in pro play.

Retakes are easier, especially with heaven being removed. There's also less ring around the rosy for Ts on both sites.

the ladders do seem a bit finnicky. Maybe we'll see some fixes to them in the future

This map is as open as cache.
Overall, I love the new Train. I didnt like it back then as it was too claustrophobic and there were too many angles/corners to look at.

CS2 has always had a grenade camera in practice mode. And even ik GO without things like this it’s not actually that hard to find lineups

Ruined it completely. It used to be unique. But it is not anymore. It is a noobs-friendly map now.
