I heard about this band from my Canadian friend and i was checking them out, was really surprised this song takes place on Beale Street since i live 20 minutes from it in Memphis
I think this is gonna be a *massive* hit because it's been running thru my head despite the fact that I'm among the 1% of folks who aren't prone to earworms. :D The video, lyrics & Max's singing are all absolutely awesome, and the choir absolutely completes the experience. :D
I often moan and groan about all the crap on the internet, youtube, and most 'media' sites, etc. BUT, if it weren't for the internet, I'd still be spoon fed what music to listen to, and I'd still be seeking out underground clubs, or word of mouth gigs. I also found university student newspapers were good at highlighting indie gems. Thanks to the internet being everywhere, last 20 years has shown an increase in awareness of, and access to, talented Canadian bands. So far, all the acts/gigs I've been fortunate enough to attend have been worth the effort. Live shows always make any (or lack of) talent quickly apparent. Arkells are a good band.

So he's saying even though they are grown ups they feel like kids still, party a lot, and when Sunday comes around they need help picking their lives back up.
He actually was, his parents got divorced when Drake was 5 & his dad went back to his home town, and ended up being arrested for drug related charges & then couldn't afford to travel back to Toronto to see him but brought him down every summer
arkells a stunning example of someone who is persistent and loves their passion - music. I really don't think they give a damn about fitting in, just does their own thing. Respect! I share this mentality with my music. If you're one of those awesome people to give a nobody like me a chance, swing by my channel. I bet you won't regret it.
