Manchester City moved ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool to claim the top spot in the Premier League with a comfortable 5-1 win against Luton.
While their title rivals will also be in action on Sunday, Pep Guardiola's squad didn't falter against the relegation-threatened team. They wasted no time, scoring in just 90 seconds with Erling Haaland's shot deflecting off Daiki Hashioka.
The game was pretty much one-sided, especially in the first half. City's dominance was evident, with 51 touches in Luton's box, the highest ever recorded in a first half of a Premier League match since Opta began tracking the stats.
Although the second goal came in the 64th minute, it was well worth the wait. Mateo Kovacic's strike found the top corner beautifully. Haaland secured his 20th Premier League goal of the season from the penalty spot, extending City's lead before Ross Barkley pulled one back for Luton.
But that only stirred City up, as they netted two more goals late in the game through Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol, sealing a comfortable victory.
