Even the C7's here in Australia are up close to 200k! Which is total horse shit considering you can find nice examples in the usa for 25k. Yes they are awesome. But for the price here in Australia. Not worth it
If you really want a RHD, you can get yourself a dealer demo 2LT from Japan for $122,000AUD + shipping. Buy your missus a new Mazda SUV with the left overs.
Let's talk about springs: Corvettes since at least the 4th gen, all the way up to and including the 7th gen had transverse-mounted fiberglass leaf springs. One in the front, one in the rear. There's nothing wrong with the concept of a transverse spring other than ignorant folks who think it's a problem. A spring is a spring is a spring is a spring. Coils give no benefit over transverse leafs other than individual corner spring replacements for specific track tuning. Something no street car owner is going to do. And with these leaf springs, the Corvette has easily slapped the competition around on the race tracks for decades. Coils don't make "a proper supercar". Had the packaging worked on this car, it too would have the transverse springs. And be lighter for it because they weigh less. Had it come like that, would that have disqualified it from "supercar" status in your eyes?
The Chevy dealers have made it difficult to own. I have been waiting for 3 years to get me C8 Z06 / Z07 package. I'm dealing with the best dealership Leach Wilson from Shelbyville IL. Aaron Miller has been the best and the rest are the salesmen there are just as awesome. From day one they stated they would sell the car at MSRP. Every other dealer I dealt with especially in the Chicago Metro area ( Golf MIll, Jack Phelan, and others) The dealers were trying to make themselves rich off of these cars??? Where is Chevrolet management trying to reign this in?? I will happily buy the car from Leach Wilson when Chevrolet FINALLY gives them their allocation. That seems to be the other issue, Chevrolet seems to be forgetting that the core is in the hard working blue collar center of the nation. The east coast, west coast and south coast dealers seem to be the only dealers to get allocations. Chevrolet take care of the people that made you who you are don't forget us central hard workers.
Why spending this a amount of money for a corvette which is gonna to be worth half that much or less right after purchase, when one can have a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mc Laren, Porsche, just to name a few?
@@anonanon8794 If you are talking gas mileage, the C8 beats many turbo cars with equivalent power, so... And in any case, mileage is NOT a major criterion for this kind of car. Other than that, turbos totally suck compared to NA engine. The ONLY reason turbos have been popular is that many countries have artificial taxes based on displacement. Not the US, though.
If you think about the money you spent while you are driving and it still puts a smile on your face, I guess it`s worth buying it.
Waited eleven months for mine, bought a 1LT for sticker in the mid $60's....fast enough for me, the car's a beast.
I waited 14 months to get mine at MSRP. Pretty loaded, was 112k out the door. The base model is a damn bargain, that's for sure!
Should it be more popular, yeah
But not everyone has $200k to fork out on a car so they’re rare for a reason

Agree and sooo unfortunate. If they were around AUD 100k, I'd consider one.
@Somchai007 I did think about getting a few guys together and get a heap over here haha try to crash the price of them. :) 😀

What a great review.
The Z06 at an exstra $140,000 seems a bit much. How much does is a better engine & breaks really cost.
Im pretty sure his pricings are in aud cause every corvette ive looked at both used and brand new are around 90k gbp
Is $300 too much to rent for 1 weekend?
No do it you won’t regret it

Don't waste your time. Go to MacMulkin or Ciocca or Criswell. All MSRP or lower.
Showe colors
Australia Tax from GM. Good car but waaaay toooo expensive.
What performance car matches its performance for the price though? Australian LCT is terrible but it is what it is
Stingray is fading fast. They need the Grand Sports, but GM does not care what customers say.
They look amazing 😊 the cost though .ill keep my 35GTR
I dont like the new exterior. Especially the sides. The front and back looks nice tho.
It's the best selling car in the segment, not sure how it can get more popular? What a lame article title.
I have owned 3 corvettes 2 had superchargers
$ 120 k car
Mine is pretty loaded up and was 103K. You can get them for 70k...its a bargain for what it can do and how it looks.
@@RenBartlett $Aud ?
Look at a c7 z06 with a manual, now look at that, all corvetre had to do was be better at being a corvette.
The sell all of them that they make

I think he answered that question - you’re going to be paying well over 100k more (at least) for most of those.
Buy used then😂
@chrishowe2935 that's tptally incorrect. With that amount you can get a Huracan or a Mclaren 570 or several superbly specce'ed 911's
@@MrFrescocotoneand repairs cost five to six times and cant be daily driven like a Corvette

I'm 88. Let's go
Way to go 88! Lol@@acemartelle1197

Better than turbos...
@@KRGrunerThat's highly debatable depending on what you're after.
