    I've no doubt in my mind that if they played this song live and nailed the whole thing it'll go down as one of the greatest performances in music history.

    Insane. So advanced. Not just "different". They have created their own environment. That's very, very rare. And by their own environment, I don't mean "djent". Meshuggah is Meshuggah. Period.Peace.

    • @jonsnow5230
      @jonsnow5230 5 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      The timing, the tripped out, almost mechanical sound of dissonance. Messuggah is definetly the original. They have been around since 91... long before djent. I think Messuggah started it. I think they do it best. It's their baby... I'm not hateing, I like em both. Just timeline'ing to provide context, to support my opinion. 🤘

      Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake said of the EP, "That whole track was
      written and recorded just on random. Me and Fredrik would just jam on
      something, and when we found something that was kind of cool, he would
      walk into the control room. I would just record drums and it wasn't a
      set pattern, I would just kind of stray away from the pattern, but just
      keep going in that vibe. Then we had to chart everything and go bar by
      bar to record the guitars afterwards, because it's all just random."

    This is a true work of art. I tried to listen to it last night and it made me feel genuine, deep terror. Arround 18 minutes I just couldn't take it anymore. It made me kinda paranoid, I started seeing movements in the dark and shit.

I'm over here listening to this song at 6am because I can't sleep and I'm going through a bit of a stressful time but it's somehow making me feel better. 😂 I suppose it just depends on your mindset. If I was in more of a paranoid state of mind then it might creep me out a little bit, but I've definitely heard much creepier and unsettling stuff than this. I totally agree that it's a masterpiece though. 🤘🖤

Meshuggah have managed to play In Death Is Life live in it's entirety, which comes close to this masterpeice. So they are still undisputed kings of the genre they created. Shame their latest records don't quite hit this mark, but meshuggah are only humans, and like myself, they are only human, But they created something unworldly on this EP.
