This was actually the first meshuggah song I ever heard. I was 15 or 16 at the time and, Im not kidding, was a completely different person the day after I first heard it.
This world was not ready for this ep when it came out. Even today the world is not ready. Even meshuggah cannot play this track live, but who the fuck could play this song without mistakes? Meshuggah have managed to play In Death Is Life live in it's entirety, which comes close to this masterpeice. So they are still undisputed kings of the genre they created. Shame their latest records don't quite hit this mark, but meshuggah are only humans, and like myself, they are only human, But they created something unworldly on this EP. I am forever in their debt.
If you put Fredrik Thordendal, Ia Eklundh, Morgan Ågren and Kim Lantto in the same room, then I am sure they'd nail it within a day or two at the most.
