I used to go every year from its inception at UCLA in 96 until they moved it to USC a few years ago. Only have gone once at USC to see Matthew Gray Gubler and his new book in 2019.
Normally, I love that I live in a small, sleepy little town, but moments like this, I wish I lived in big city areas where these events happen, so I could go to them. This looks like so much fun, and the authors seem really cool too.
I miss being able to attend this event due to chronic pain and blah, blah, blah. It's always been a great experience for me, too, but that huge hill at UCLA used to wear me out as I moved from speaker event to speaker event. Someone asked about book prices and most are sold at cost, but there used to be a huge booth selling remaindered books and much cheaper books. I was happy when they moved the event to USC because everything seemed to be much more contained and accessible. Twice at USC I was able to experience the renowned Trojan Marching Band up close as they moved down the streets. I could feel the drums inside my chest. It was awesome and a real sight to see. I was also exhausted at the end of the two days, and it's always hot then, but I loved it. Thanks for the memories and thanks for this video, Amanda.

Yeah parking gets hairy, for a few years now I've taken the tram instead of driving there because parking is tough in the area.
Every year, I think this is so cool to watch. Would love to go someday.
Wondering how much the book cost at the festival?
I brought all my books from home this time. But bookstores have booths so they just sell the books at their normal price.
