    Looks like a motorcycle without the fuel tank and engine, which makes me like the fact that it's foldable! All in all, I hope your princess loves her two-wheeled bird!

    Reason you couldnt get pedal off is because you were tightening it , its anticlockwise that side

    I just inherited one of these mines a bit newer
    it has 1 sticker that says made in Romania March 1991. It has a spring loaded clamp on the back that holds stuff on the back bed. also has a leather pouch under the seat. Otherwise it's the to the same bike.

    This bike is almost perfect. It was very easy to assemble. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx2YFGCCEkXKgqCOH-7vlvgb4L4hg4IrXI The fit was great as well. I am 5'11" and 160 lbs with a longer torso and rather shorter legs, and 55cm is a perfect fit. Every component seems to be pretty decent and durable except the rear wheel. It was a bit lob-sided and also the freewheel component is either missing a ball bearing or under lubricated, which prevents the wheel from rotating freely. Because of that, it requires more pedaling and also climbing hills a lot harder than expected. Other than the back wheel, I like everything else about it. Affordable and well-built.** UPDATE **It turns out the sound was caused by the tight chain tension. Once I loosen it up by moving the backwheel a tad bit closer to the crankset, the sound went away.

    I toss bicycles (recycle them) when they are this rusted. You never know what is hidden under a new paint job. I used to recycle a lot of rusted steal pipes that were welding together to make hog (pig) cages. If you hit the steal pipes and tubing hard with a 2 by 4 board, you can easily crack them near the welds and toss the pipes and tubing into your truck. I've seen car chassis crack easy near the welds when rusted bad. Folding bikes are especially victim to high torques and frame stress due to their frame geometries not being fully enclosed like a triangular frame with a top tube and bottom tube. I never buy a folding bike without seeing it's original paint job. You never know if a beautiful new paint job is hiding dangers under it.

    Well job, tyres would be better with the white bands sidewise. I'd like to restore a KingPin Dawes folding bike

    • @georgecristea9276
      @georgecristea9276 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion the white bands would look very nice, but it would not keep the original look. That's why it shouldn't even have white text. The entire tire should be black.

    Isn't the left hand pedal a left hand thread. You didn't need to grind it off.

    • @cancelik
      @cancelik ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it is why he failed to unscrew. Left hand pedal has left hand (reverse) thread.

      A lot of these types of bicycles, along with Dawes Kingpins and Raleigh Twenties, were originally intended to be unisex, and for any member of the family to ride, but they have acquired an unfair reputation as only being for females.
